The Flu Is FAR WORSE Than We’re Being Told: Tens Of Thousands Of Americans Are DYING
The Burning Platform ^ | 1-27-2018 | Cat Ellis

We all know that this year’s flu season is bad. I have been pouring over numbers and reports over the past few days, and it’s actually even worse than we’re hearing about. Tens of thousands of Americans are dying. It’s now worse than the 2009 swine flu outbreak and is on track with the 2014-15 strain. And it’s not showing any signs of slowing down.

Despite this, the media is downplaying the severity of the flu and the government makes the statistics pretty difficult to find. Are they trying to avoid a panic? Do they know something we don’t?

Here’s what you need to know about why this year’s flu is so dangerous.

This Year’s Flu Strain Is More Deadly

The dominant Influenza strain this year is H3N2. This particular strain has a history of causing more hospitalizations and more deaths. According to the CDC:

In the past, H3N2-predominant seasons have been associated with more severe illness and higher mortality, especially in older people and young children, relative to H1N1- or B-predominant seasons. Between 1976 and 2007, for example, CDC estimates that an average of 28,909 people died from flu during H3N2 seasons, compared to 10,648 people during non-H3N2 predominant years.

That’s a difference of 18,261 adults each year. And that’s in a good year.

In addition to H3N2 producing a more serious infection in general, this year’s particular H3N2 influenza virus is particularly virulent. The number of deaths due to influenza or complications to the flu, such as pneumonia (a secondary bacterial infection following influenza), varies from year to year.

An August 27, 2010 MMWR report entitled “Thompson MG et al. Updated Estimates of Mortality Associated with Seasonal Influenza through the 2006-2007 Influenza Season. MMWR 2010; 59(33): 1057-1062.,” provided estimates of the range of flu-associated deaths

I have not heard this before. I take NAC (Swansons). I looked on the bottle and it does not say to refrigerate it. Maybe different NAC products carry different storage instructions?

[[Don’t you get plenty of Vit D in California? If Vit D prevents the flu why are they getting it there?]]

I live in Florida and know that lots of Floridians are low vitamin D3 . I’ve seen the blood test results with my own eyes . It sounds crazy with as much sunshine as we get here but plenty of older people stay inside almost all day long.
If stay inside all day long your body won’t make it.

D3 prevents a lot more than just the flu .

To state nothing of the fact that the flu is typically only deadly to those with weakened immune systems. That can apply to any age group given the state of health in this country.

Flu is hyped to make it profitable. Agreed on that.

http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2009/11/does-the-vaccine-matter/307723/

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(excerpt from article)-
The history of flu vaccination suggests other reasons to doubt claims that it dramatically reduces mortality. In 2004, for example, vaccine production fell behind, causing a 40 percent drop in immunization rates. Yet mortality did not rise. In addition, vaccine “mismatches” occurred in 1968 and 1997: in both years, the vaccine that had been produced in the summer protected against one set of viruses, but come winter, a different set was circulating. In effect, nobody was vaccinated. Yet death rates from all causes, including flu and the various illnesses it can exacerbate, did not budge. Sumit Majumdar, a physician and researcher at the University of Alberta, in Canada, offers another historical observation: rising rates of vaccination of the elderly over the past two decades have not coincided with a lower overall mortality rate. In 1989, only 15 percent of people over age 65 in the U.S. and Canada were vaccinated against flu. Today, more than 65 percent are immunized. Yet death rates among the elderly during flu season have increased rather than decreased.

The LEF version goes bad in a couple of months unless refrigerated. We keep it around specifically for influenza. NAC is also used for those that wash down acetaminophen with alcohol. Hospitals keep it in stock.

When it goes bad it begins to smell like vinegar. With influenza, the sooner you begin taking it the better. There is one other interesting nutraceutical that is being researched right now related to the Vanins metabolic pathways. That is all I can say at this time.

Although most influenza deaths occur in those with weakened immune systems, such as the elderly, certain flu viruses can cause death in young, healthy adults.

30% effective in a good year, this year they have estimated its only about 10% effective, the strain they bet on being the bad one was wrong.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is one of the side effects of a bad flue.

Anyway we now have a thread about how the government is hiding the truth of the devastation caused by the flu, to match the one from last week about how the government is greatly exaggerating the severity of the flu.

And apparently the infection is less severe to those who get the vaccine who don’t get fully immune to it from the vaccine.

I hope "less severe" doesn't mean that the victims don't bother staying home, but go into school or work to infect others.

Last year, I think had the flu that's going around this year. Soon after, I recall going into stores and hearing the exact same distinctive cough I had, from cashiers with red eyes and drippy noses.

What does LEF stand for? Sustained release?

I’d be interested in hearing whatever you can say about the other research whenever you are able to reveal it. Thanks.

There was also a recent NEJM article (recent as in the last 3 months)

Actually it was 7 months:

Dunkle, LM et al "Efficacy of Adult Recombinant Influenza Vaccine in Adults 50 years of Age and Older" NEJM June 22, 2017, 317:2427-2436 DOI: 10.1056/NEJMoa1608862

NEJM Article

They explain the problem of egg based medium if you have access to the full article.

CORRECTION: So even when they include it in the vaccine (which they didn't this year)

I had thought I heard a news report that the regular flu vaccine did not include the H3N2 but seeing some of the posts to the contrary I checked some inserts and the regular vaccine does have the H3N2 virus in it. So I wanted to correct my misinformation.

I don’t have the flu, but I’m having the worst episode of asthma I have ever experienced in my life. It usually last just a few weeks. This thing has dragged on since before New Years Eve. The symptoms are finally subsiding, yes, but there is still a great deal of coughing and rattling congestion.
It’s annoying and embarrassing. I’m often thinking ‘Will this never end?’

I don’t know if there’s any relation to the Flu Breakout.
I can only say Thank God for my doctors at the Veterans Hospital in San Francisco. I know my problems are itty-bitty compared to millions of others.

LEF is Life Extension Foundation. They sell supplements. Pharmacologically reliable, however not always the most inclusive. Their NAC formulations do not store well.

I will be very happy to talk about it in detail. Unfortunately, I can't give much info until we publish our own work in a year (at the end of the study). We stumbled on this other work when we were looking at metabolic pathways. The reasons are political and not scientific.
