Yes, some were a bit frustrated that we posted about The New York Times late Thursday night story about President Donald Trump wanting to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller last June. The fact of the matter is it never happened, but it would certainly rehash the Russian collusion hysteria that has gripped the news media since Trump won the 2016 election.
CBS: Allegations Tainted FBI Agents "Pulled Punches" During Clinton Email Probe
Yet, Washington Free Beacon reporter Liz Harrington noted the odd timing of the leaked story, noting it came two hours after it was reported that FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page were worried that they were going to hard on Hillary Clinton during the probe into whether the former first lady mishandled classified information. It seemed to suggest the two were mulling pulling some punches concerning the former first lady, which is wholly inappropriate (via Free Beacon):
Harrington: Trump Considering Firing Mueller Used to Distract from FBI Officials' Text Messages
During an interview with Fox News, Harrington said it was curious timing that the development that Trump considered firing Mueller months ago came out just two hours after lost text messages were leaked by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa).[ ]
"Here you have the top agent who had a hand in this Hillary investigation, and then also was brought into the Trump-Mueller probe, and he was completely biased against Trump. We've seen it and he was fired from it," Harrington said of Strzok. "Just as all the text messages are coming out to expose that, now what is the media jumping onto? A six-month-old story which they already had practically reported that Trump considered firing Mueller. But the fact is, he didn't fire Mueller."
Yes, odd timing indeed. Strzok and Page have become the poster children for unprofessionalism at the bureau. Besides the two of them having an extramarital affair, their text exchanges, which number in the tens of thousands, displayed explicit bias against Trump. They two really wanted Hillary Clinton to become president. Once Robert Mueller knew about the texts last summer, he removed Strzok from the Russia probe; he was reassigned to human resources. Prior to the texts becoming public, Strzok was a top counterintelligence agent at the FBI.
He was was key in both the Hillary email investigation and signed off on the counterintelligence probe into whether the Trump campaign and the Russian colluded during the 2016 election last July. Congress has called for access to the documents relating to these texts, and on a related notewhether the FBI used the Trump dossier to secure FISA warrants on members of the Trump campaign. So far, the bureau has been stonewalling the investigative committees.
THINGS TRUMP THOUGHT ABOUT DOING BUT DIDN'T
* fire Mueller
* spray paint the White House "luxurious" gold
* throw wadded up paper at Schumer then point at Ryan
* annex Canada
* just kidding, nuke Canada because boredom
* make rapper ad dishing out $1000 bills
* waterboard Wolff— Razor (@hale_razor) January 26, 2018
When there are lulls in the narratives or when the real news points in another direction [closer to Dems], they revert to the old narratives by repeating the old fake news.
How many times have they posted that Trump intended to fire Mueller in the last year? How many times have they posted that Trump wanted to fire Sessions?
This is just a rehash of the same old crap being shoveled by the complicit media.
The panic revealed by the Mueller firing story should be obvious even to those in Rio Linde
They are nearing the end of their rope
That “Trump wanted to fire Mueller” meme may be ground work leading up to some kind of fiction because Trump will soon be requested to communicate with Mueller. I certainly hope, since Mueller parades around like he is a divine personage that everyone fears, that Trump will tell him to go to hell.
Mueller is the personal representative of Rosenstein, who is about to be revealed as a dirty cop, protected by Jeff Sessions. This whole thing is corrupt beyond comprehension.
Well, here’s a theory for you all . There are plenty of prognosticators out there (including many here on FR) who are of the view that Mueller really isnt investigating President Trump at all for lack of a better phrase, what hes really doing is running a sting operation on a grand scale and all of this will come out at some point once he and Sessions are all well and truly ready to drop the hammer. So weve all no doubt watched the Russia Russia Russia frothing at the mouth coverage by CNN and other LSM for the past year but that only means they have a very specific agenda. It doesnt mean that they are completely unaware of what is going on elsewhere. Case in point even CNN had to finally give some coverage to the 4 page memo this past week.
What if all the pieces they need just arent quite lined up yet? Perhaps what theyd like is to buy just a bit more time and so to totally distract them, Trump throws out the suggestion that he wanted to fire Mueller last June and off they all go chasing after that story like a cat after a laser. There, says Donald That will keep them out of our hair for at least another two weeks, and then we can give them some other rotten red meat to chase after that.
Flame away . but for me, its seems quite suspicious as to why this story has dominated the LSM over the past week.
Seems very plausible to me.
