Wait a sec. Then why in some neighborhoods are the cosmetic aisles in target out in the open, and in other hoods they are separate where you have to enter a doorway watched by an employee To get into those aisles filled with tiny expensive items?? Huh???
my grocer locks up baby formula which is pretty weird to me.
so is that a reason for young moms to get a lawyer??
Lots of stores now must lock up makeup and spray paint, too.
The Giant Eagle on the North East side of Columbus, locked up baby formula, pampers, razors and cough medicine.
As some who worked in Walmart and was in management I can tell you the reason that stuff may have been locked up. Now I cannot speak to this location but generally in Walmart one of the biggest areas for theft is HBA department where perfume and hair products are. In some stores that can be the top 1 or 2 places for shoplifting, the other place is usually the electronics department. It’s just the way it is.
Maybe she was upset she could not get her stuff and just walk out of the store.
Perhaps the best option is for stores to have a customer simply order off of a video monitor then have employees gather the items and all the customers can pre-pay before they receive the merchandise.
No theft and everybody gets treated the same.

They are segregating people they are segregating products. They segregate and lock up all products with a high theft rate.

Be like protecting the store, from “shrinkage,” etc.
According to Madame Google, two of the top four categories of inventory shrinkage, are employee theft, and shoplifting.
They also lock up Gillette razor blades. Is that racist too?

Yeah - the also have them little tags on electric toothbrush refills and razor blades because they are high-theft items - anyone with teeth and unwanted body hair ought to be offended too...
