The spoiler Republican write in candidate was Lee Busby. Claimed he was a moderate as being neither too far off in either direction of Moore or dem opponent. Claimed he was in it to win but obviously was lying in that the only possible outcome would be siphoning enough votes to throw the election to one or the other candidates who had won the primaries. Mitch McConnell used his position to defeat Moore and gift the Alabama senate seat to the democrats. The details of that election can be found by an internet search.
