I’m retired and lucky to be able to hole up for periods of time if an epidemic like this breaks out.
One of the MANY perks of being retired. I’m right there with ya.
Congrats
More virulent virus/viri and affecting both young and old, and those with compromised immune systems.
Hospitals are getting overcrowded, and have become influenza central;
nursing homes for the elderly are turning away visitors or mandating N-95 face masks.
Schools are being cancelled due to flu outbreak.
We have not yet reached "peak season" for influenza, yet !(Feb.)
number one, you do not need to rush to the doctor for mild symptoms....its best to stay home, rest, take fluids, aspirin as needed...people are clogging up ER's and drs offices when space is needed for those that are hit hardest...
number two, don't expect Tamiflu to be a cure...its not, not even close...
and number three, shortness of breath is a sign to hit the ER...continued fast heart rate, and you just are unable to feel better...
the ones who are the sickest are those who are smokers...COPD with the flu is not pretty...
stop smoking...
No offense, but Avoiding contact is an excellent strategy.
Some people think the flu is simply an inconvenience. He might comment.
