The deal offered seems to be pretty much what we saw reported earlier. Lou Dobbs is beside himself. My view on Trump is pretty much the same as Dobbs'.

Someone mentioned considering SOME of the “dreamers” for Green Card status, depending on skills, language, etc. But absolutely NO citizenship, path to citizenship, or true amnesty.

This is a stunning reversal of what Trump supporters thought was promised. But we were warned that Trump might be pro-amnesty. Even as he was beginning to run for president, he was still making pro-amnesty statements.

If you’ve got a better plan to build the wall and end 60 years of chain migration I’m all ears. Sorry, we don’t elect a king. POTUS will have to cut a deal at some point to get the wall, etc. It’s that simple.

Trump is twisting Schumer’s nipples with his framework “proposal” because he knows Chuck is on the ropes and can’t accept anything that doesn’t legalize 30 million illegals if he wants to get any sleep..... Trump also asks for $25 billion instead of the original $18 billion for the wall in this document - rubbing it in.
So, you are saying if you got the wall, ended chain migration, ended the diversity visa program, and ended birthright citizenship, ended H1B, reduced the number of legal immigrants allowed per year to 500k, etc... You would be opposed to saying, someone who was brought here as a child, and lived here since without any known infractions, couldn’t get a green card for 20 years, be required to pay his taxes, and obey all laws during that time or be deported, and at the end of that 20 years, provided they obeyed all of that, that they then be eligible for citizenship and not be allowed to sponsor any other relative for immigrations?

Had any other Republican won, blanket amnesty with no conditions would have already happened!
Trump has the capacity to END 60+ years of horrible immigration policy, and we have some folks screaming no... meaning in the end it will just keep going for another 60 years, because they don’t like a detail.
