Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday rejected the idea of giving young undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship, one day after President Trump said he was open to the idea.
I do not believe we should be granting a path to citizenship to anybody here illegally, Cruz told reporters, according to Bloomberg. Doing so is inconsistent with the promises we made to the man and women who elected us.
For some reason that to me is utterly inexplicable, we see Republicans falling all over themselves to gallop to the left of [former President] Obama in a way that is contrary to the promises made to the voters who elected us, he added.
Trump on Wednesday said he was open to a path to citizenship for DACA recipients in exchange for funding for a border wall and other security measures.

He’s Running
1. Any 'Dreamer' older than 15 is ineligble for citizenship after 20 years.
2. All children under the age of 15 belonging to the above category are eligible after 10 years.
3. NONE of the family chain migrated are eligible. Ever.
4. Criminal felonies are instant deportation.
The above provisions will take effect 30 days AFTER the wall has been declared complete by the POTUS.

This would mean minimum new voters for the Dems for at least 5 election cycles.
Not only that, his offer is also moot!
LOL! You new what I ment. :)
Yeah, like they ran on a repeal of Obamacare.
Applause
They have to prove that they really were here over a year before they turned 18.
They have to check in with INS every 6 months and one miss is grounds for deportation.
Quite right. That's because these "Dream Stealers" are illegal aliens stealing from every American citizen every minute of every day they are in our country.
Deport all illegal aliens now!
No passive voice there.
Yes, as in:
Swamp = Wetland
Jungle = Rainforest
Why? No one gives money to save a swamp or a jungle, they do to save a wetland or a rainforest.
Absolutely agree!
For US Senate. This year.
Learn to live with it.
He has a position on a topic that is of concern to his constituents and he gets a vote on any bill that Trump would sign. He doesn't need your permission to talk about the issue.
“Citizenship Next Year!”
Re: If we exclude them from the census as well I might consider it...
Unfortunately, the Census counts “all persons present” in the USA, which includes illegal persons, if they actually consent to be counted.
Bottom Line - In 2022, high immigration states will pull Congressional Districts and Electoral Votes away from low immigration states.
That will probably mean a net political gain for the Democrats.
Not necessarily if they assign them an immigration status that already exists. They are all citizens of another country- it is not like they have no citizenship, we need to treat them that way. If we decide to deport them that works since they are citizens of another country. There is already an outcry claiming some are just about to finish school, or an internship or something so I imagine some will be allowed to stay at least short term. If that is the case they should be issued student VISAs, work permits, things like that, things already part of our immigration law. I don’t see how a judge could mess with that very easily.
If Congress gives them some special status just for them, I agree- no matter what it says they will end up with citizenship at some point.
Look how young these 'children' are....and this is their behavior....don't need thev don't want the here!
