Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday rejected the idea of giving young undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship, one day after President Trump said he was open to the idea.

“I do not believe we should be granting a path to citizenship to anybody here illegally,” Cruz told reporters, according to Bloomberg. “Doing so is inconsistent with the promises we made to the man and women who elected us.”

“For some reason that to me is utterly inexplicable, we see Republicans falling all over themselves to gallop to the left of [former President] Obama in a way that is contrary to the promises made to the voters who elected us,” he added.

Trump on Wednesday said he was open to a path to citizenship for DACA recipients in exchange for funding for a border wall and other security measures.

Trump also asks for $25 billion instead of the original $18 billion for the wall in this document - rubbing it in.

Yeah, I noticed that too and LOL’d at it.

Like you I will vote Cruz in Nov. I think he is as phony as a 3 dollar bill, but I’ll vote Cruz to keep the seat in GOP hands.

Ted’s dad is here legally, Ted isn’t, but it is far to late to do anything about that.

Rafael declared that he relinquished his Cuba citizenship and became Canadian prior to Ted’s birth. He retained Canadian citizenship until 2006 when he became an American.. When asked about if his wife was Canadian, he stated, “You’ll have to ask Eleanor about that.”

Eleanor Cruz had declared that she was a Canadian citizen to the Alberta Provincial voting authorities. She had been verified by the provincial voting director and placed on the voting rolls along with her husband, Rafael.

Prior to moving to Canada, Eleanor had been living as a resident alien in England for 7-10 years.

Those are the facts: Cruz was born in Canada to Canadian citizens making him a natural born Canadian citizen.
