That is a type of brand that the likes of Lowes and Home Cheapo sell. I think Walmart also.

What they fail to mention is the middle men that these stores go to. Like Universal Forest Products, who are nothing but a broker house where they go and order units of lumber for the stores. Then Universal goes out and purchases the cheapest and most crappy lumber they can find and ship it to Home Depot and Lowes. Universal then takes a cut and ships the crap to them.

I once ask why the hell that Home Cheapo didnt deal directly with the manufactures. They told me that with all the items they sell, they’d have to hire tons of people to do the stock orders directly.

What a CROCK. I.E. They could order OSB directly from the nearest plant and cut the prices at least 10% and make a hell of a lot more money. Instead, they order from Universal and Universal gets the crap from some mill from where ever, and ship it to the store that needs the items.

Universal is a bunch of crooks.

I had 250 feet of privacy fence built for me a year ago.

Neighbor of mine. But I had to buy the fencing lumber up front. So off we go to Home Cheapo. 140 six foot boards we bought. Probably rejected 3 times that many.

Rocky would inspect each board before we put it on the cart. Warped, split, inferior boards were tossed on the floor while we both looked for simple decent materials.

I felt kinda bad leaving stacks of lumber on the floor. Rocky could not give a damn. “If they bought good decent lumber in the first place....”

He’s right.
