ABC News has obtained a copy of the one message that Republicans appear to be citing, and it's unclear if the message's reference to a secret society may have been made in jest.
"Are you even going to give out your calendars? Seems kind of depressing. Maybe it should just be the first meeting of the secret society," FBI lawyer Lisa Page wrote to senior FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was working on the FBIs probe of Russian meddling in the presidential election and would later join Page for a brief period on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team.

I think it’s entirely possible the secret society comment was meant in jest. It sounds over-the-top, and there is no need to play it up at this point since there is so much other evidence of corruption. The left wing corruption at the FBI appears to be so pervasive that they wouldn’t have needed a “secret society”.
Ron Johnson claims to have an informant.
Jokes are only funny when they exaggerate an underlying truth.
No, there was no ‘secret society’ with secret handshakes and bizarre initiation ceremonies. Yes, there was a group of high ranking government officials working together using their powers and positions to perform illegal acts in furtherance of a political objective.
You mean... like, with a cloth?
It was a joke.
No it wasn’t
Yes, it was.
No it wasn’t.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
Its possible they were using the specific term secret society in a joking manner to refer to what was a very real off-site, secret group.

The context of in which they were talking is disturbing in and of itself. The calendars they were discussing were given to them by the FBI. The calendars were Russia-themed. Quite the jokers the Deep Staters are.
Called this one yesterday. “Many a truth is said in jest.” Even if the term in the text was an attempt at adolescent irony, the meetings were real, the participants very senior and influential, the activities discussed took place, and the intentions were anything but a joke. Calling criminal activity by a cute name doesn’t make it non-criminal.
It certainly goes to reinforcing the conclusion there was some kind of separate “in crowd”, replete with it’s insider “jokes”.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, was previously financially aided by the George Soros-financed MoveOn.org to win his Congressional seat.
Schiff was also awarded the Toll Fellowship, which is sponsored by the Council of State Governments, a nonprofit that monitors federal government activities and is heavily financed by Soross Open Society Foundations.
The Open Society and Soros-funded groups have additionally supported a number of Schiffs legislative efforts.
