He still has ZERO leverage here. Shutting down the American government for illegal aliens was dumb then and it’s dumb now. All we have to do is wait. His precious “dreamers” don’t have time to wait.
Worst case, Elderly Mutant Geriatric Turtle invokes the nuclear option, we fund the government, and the illegals are rounded up the day after the DACA EO deadline. Once enough are gone, Schumer and the Dems will come to the WH begging for a deal.
The wall, combined with the high-tech stuff we have up our sleeves will stop illegal border crossings cold. With a wall, the only way anyone will get across will be through military action. We know what that will bring.

You forget that there is another legislative house. A bill can’t be signed or vetoed, until it passes through both. The House is a different animal than the Senate, with its own pitfalls, which can be exploited.
I am not most people. I live about 6 miles from the border and have lived here since Carter was President. I worked at a Port of Entry for 16 years. I have seen a lot, and I know how insecure it is. I can tell how secure or insecure the border in my area is at any given time by looking out my kitchen window when the dogs bark.
Simple security measures and enforcement would have worked at one time, many years ago but instead things were ignored, the border became less and less secure. The truth is the border has been allowed to get out of control and there is no simple fix that is going to work at this point. For the past several years the cartels have more control over our border area than our country does. It will take a serious multi level plan, no one thing or few parts will fix it.
Cartels have been making beyond a fortune moving people and drugs across this border for many years and it will not be simple to get them to stop.
