The FBIs top agent on the Trump-Russia investigation sent a text message last year that one top Republican senator says suggests he saw no evidence of Trump campaign collusion.
The text message, which was sent by Peter Strzok, is jaw-dropping, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said in a radio interview on Tuesday.
In an interview with WISN-Milwaukee radio host Jay Weber, Johnson read aloud a May 19, 2017 text that Strzok sent to Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer and his mistress.
Strzok wrote: You and I both know the odds are nothing. If I thought it was likely, Id be there no question. I hesitate in part because of my gut sense and concern that theres no big there there.
Johnson said that the text referred to the Mueller investigation, which had kicked off two days earlier. Strzok joined that team, but was removed in July after the Justice Departments inspector general discovered his anti-Trump text exchanges with Page.
As the FBIs deputy counterintelligence chief, Strzok was picked in July 2016 to oversee the investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion with the Russian government. Prior to that, he was a top investigator on the Clinton email inquiry.

I have heard the analysis which I believe is correct in that Trump sessions at all know all of this and know that if they fully expose it it would cause a constitutional type crisis
and therefore they’re just debating whether it continue to simmer or bring it all out in the open
and I think that given that Trump wants to get very important economic immigration at all these other kind of things done I think you can use it as a wildcard To keep under the table to force demoncraps to agree with his pro American policies on immigration trade economics and so on and so forth
Just keep in mind that Trump is in for the long long long game here there is a lot of damage to undo and we need to get stronger majorities of conservative in both the House and Senate in order to get by the interminably Lying obstructing Democrats and the media toads
I don’t remember seeing any “official” DOJ\FBI reason for reassigning Strzok.
I never bought the anti-Trump text exchanges with Page story as the reason. Most of Mueller’s team was anti-trump\pro-hillary
Strzok headed the team that made the 50k offer to Steele for corroborating the dossier.
What if Strzok got adiosed because he still believed there was no there there and pushed it ?
The analogy I keep getting is that they were like a bunch of middle school kids at their first party where the beer or pot came out, and since it was the cool thing to do, they all went along with it. Before long they were the ones on the inside, introducing others to to beer and pot.
The point of my analogy is, at some point in time all these people were probably straight, honest, objective agents. They got into an environment where the cool people were behaving a certain way and they followed suit, and before long they were leading the pack.
Who created this politically-charged environment? Well it damn sure wasn’t George W. Bush.
Wake me up when something actually happens. Like someone being fired or indicted. Until then all this is just crying wolf over and over. As Shakespeare wrote, it’s all sound and fury signifying nothing.
So now some want the guy who’s been pegged as possibly at the center of all the law breaking to be their star witness? What about the “insurance policy” to get Trump? Are we now supposed to believe they were ethical enough to only persue it if it actually bore fruit?
This therefore appears to be an attempt to ressurct Strzok’s image, because it surely won’t be enough to shutdown Mueller. Best case, Strzok may be ratting out his former buddies. I see that as a long shot, but he did reconcile with his wife per recent pics, so it’s not impossible.
“Until then all this is just crying wolf over and over.”
If I recall correctly, the point of that od tale was that the boy cried “Wolf!” when he knew there was no wolf, just to stir people up.
On the day that he actually saw a wolf, he cried out the alarm, no one responded and he was gobbled up.
How does that apply here, when we here have been crying wolf for years, having seen ravenous wolves in action for years, and now, finally, their sheepskins have fallen away and even the low info know?
You should post that video link in its own thread. Powerful stuff.
Not really - we all knew that, too.
Why should that text be jaw-dropping? Jeff Sessions said the same thing, then promptly recused himself so the charade could proceed.
DITTOS!
There’s a whole lotta Seditionists whose texts should be reviewed, not just the two star-crossed.
And maybe he also knew that the CIA was SPYING on the Trumps!
And to Comey who got Mueller the engagement.
While I don't disagree, and you can see that Trump is playing this beautifully, isn't all of this effort predicated upon keeping the House and Senate? As it stands today, I'm just not so sure that Republicans will do that.
Losing either house would be devastating to Trump's agenda, and I'm just not sure he'd want to operate under constant harassment from select committees issuing subpoenas for anything they can dream up. And God forbid the House should be turned back over to Pelosi and gang...there'd be an impeachment vote as soon as the next Congress was in session.
From personal experience..there was a huge shift in mood, morale and priorities in law enforcement when Obama was elected and ever more so when Lynch was made AG.
Maybe Peter Strzok’s gut was really telling him he would be ‘unmasked’ and sent to prison if he got involved... Which is exactly what’s going to happen.
bump.

Ya know, as salacious and damning and treasonous all of this is, it doesnt matter, because nothing will be done. If the GOP was on our side, the FISA abuses memo would already be public. We wouldnt be talking about evidence to put Hitlery behind bars. Shes already be there. Were talking about an entire group of people, in the House & Senate - SUPPOSED good people like Ted Cruz - who have know all this time about the shushfund, and they kept it quiet. Congress is NOT on our side. The GOP is NOT on our side. None of this matters, in the end, because it will be made headline news, and then go away, yet the practices will continue.

Congress has *THE* authority, vis a vie ‘over-sight’. Yet, day in/out, we read/hear how ‘surprised’ Congress is re: XYZ.
If that doesn’t tell ya “sitting on their thumbs” I don’t know what else...
Watch the ‘budget battle’. I’d bet $$-2-donuts they won’t hit the dept(s) where it hurts: bottom-line. What % raise will the (R)N(C) give ‘em for abusing their positions/power *THIS* time??
Zero gave AID & COMFORT to the enemy (illegal pallets of $$$), uranium one, etc. and not a single charge....Someone expect different for a COUP vs. an unpopular (by D.C./elite) President??

The most salient point.
If the (R)'s loose either house, the Trump agenda is finished.
