Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) believes the recent three-day government shutdown and the deal to end it on Monday gave Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and other illegal immigrant Dreamers a better chance of getting a pathway to citizenship.
Flake has been working with Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) on a bill that would give a 12-year pathway to citizenship for about 2 million illegal immigrant Dreamers and legal status for their parents. On Monday, Senate Democrats agreed to a three-week spending bill in exchange for a DACA vote before February 8.
I do think that they have a better chance now to have a long-term solution instead of another short-term fix, Flake reportedly told the Arizona Republic on Monday. No guarantee, but a better chance.
Flake said that without the three-week spending bill, his concern was that lawmakers would get to March and just have a day or two to ram something through, which, according to Flake, would have forced Congress just to pass another short-term fix for those that are registered now [under DACA] that would give them basically a work permit and legal status for another year or so.

Flake, you know, this asshat I am just tired of hearing spout his ideas. I note he has opened his mouth only since he was notified he would never sustain a challenge. I guess he did not get the message. They used to say when you sit down at a poker table and don’t know whom the patsy is, it is because it is you. Same here, this guy is so far out of step with his electorate, he is the dope. Senator, this guy is best suited to be a janitor in a sewage plant.
No pathway to citizenship...he mentioned a 12 year path. We have people who have been going through the legal steps to citizenship that have been in the process longer than that.
The dims make a big deal about it being hard for illegals to get citizenship. The thing is it should not be easy. We probably need to make some changes but why should it be “easy” to become a citizen.
Anytime the citizens nominate someone they do not control, both parties team up to knee cap them in the general.
It has happened over and over again.
Go away maggot. You sicken me.
I hope Flake enjoyed his tryst with Schmuck Shummer.
Yeah, 1% vs. 0%.
I must admit, I’m really on the horns of a dilemma:
I cannot wait until this pox on the country just goes away. But then I remember that John McStain is also an AZ Senator...so I cannot decide which one I’d like to see go away first.
Oh, and AZ folks out there: WAKE TF UP!!!!!
That’s why they call him “The Flake” - he’s as much a left-wing propagandist as Schumer and Pelosi - Arizona is a real disappointment.

How about a pathway back to where they came from.
Surely there’s some available blackmail material on Jeff Flake. Evidence he’s a homosexual? Some #MeToo idiots ready to scream “he touched me!”? This guy needs to be taken out, taken off the national stage in the most damaging way possible. He won’t resign, though, probably, even if he was caught with his pants down in a bathhouse.
Guarantee they are going to count 42 year olds that came here when they were 17 3/4 and have already been deported and snuck back 10 times in that number.
If the parasites haven’t filed for citizenship while here they need to be deported and not allowed to file for it they had a chance and blew it.
I have seen published reports that indicate there are as many as 3 MILLION “dreamers,” and 30 MILLION illegal aliens.
Both estimates are probably on the low side!
