Exactly!!! That’s already the law. It’s been a year now and I’m disappointed Trump hasn’t already enforced the things that are already the law – E-Verify and the consequence of employers not using it. It would’ve been so easy And I don’t know what he’s waiting for.
There was a little news on this recently, but this sort of enforcement needs to go far beyond dairy farmers to some big name companies and executives that hire illegals.
The E-verify system has been operational for several years, but I think it's mostly optional. Trump couldn't require it for everyone without some new laws, AFAIK.

Of course, it was deliberate on the part of our past federal government that it not be mandatory.

The man is doing a tremendous job for all Americans, but it is curious as to why he seems to overlook a few fixes that are easily doable, such as this one.
