Democrats caved on the shutdown, and they’re admitting it

You don't need me to tell you that Democrats just caved when it comes to ending the government shutdown; even some of their leading senators are admitting it. Here's Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), a potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate:

“I don’t believe he made any commitment whatsoever and I think it would be foolhardy to believe he made a commitment.” Cc: Democratic leadership.

Here's another critic, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.):

Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) says she’s “very disappointed” in deal because there’s no guarantee House will pass fix to help Dreamers.

I have no idea but that Gope Amnesty crowd will try everything .
As long as Daca is not dead .
They will try everything even override his veto .
The senate is pure enemy territory for him and the House under Ryan not must have better.
They can taste it .

I agree with one exception, in my opinion those that served honorably in the military should be able to apply for citizenship and unless they have some major issue, they should become citizens.

It comes down to whether Trump keeps his word - if he does, the Senate can do whatever they please and it won’t go anywhere (veto at worst, more likely never get a House vote, as Ryan is using the Hastert Rule, meaning he won’t bring it up for a vote until 50% of Republicans support it).

For a while, I was as worried as you are...particularly when Trump said that he would ‘sign anything’ (and yes, I got trashed here too). But then his S-hole comment relieved my worries - for now.

As to today and the shutdown, I do think the Republicans played it perfect - they had already conceded a vote on DACA and funding CHIP on Friday, and they didn’t want to give the Dems any ammo, so they didn’t go back on that offer. They, like Trump, just sat back and let the Dems make asses of themselves and then capitulate - it is how you win elections.

Your worry is still legit, and your complaints about promising a vote on DACA is also legit (to me)...but that was Friday’s news (and that was the time to call them out) - today was a clean victory, which we wanted to celebrate, as it is so rare.
