Senate Democrats on Friday night blocked passage of a month-long stopgap spending bill to keep the government funded past midnight, leaving less than two hours to find a path forward before much of the government was set to shut down.

Why isn’t the lamestream media playing the years of Democrats on TV claiming shutting down the government is bad??

Yeah I think they were Printed and out by daylight
The military will not be paid. They will eventually get back pay. It’s hardest on those that are deployed. They can’t just try to pick up some work on the side to make ends meet. The civilian employees that are furloughed get paid later too, but they don’t have to work. The military has to carry on, paid or not. Plus as General Mathis said today all maintenance that is not already started will be postponed. We are already in a pickle with ragged ass equipment, lack of training time etc. This will just put us further behind.
35 min. to go, and many senators are still milling around... are they expecting to vote on a new CR?
Maybe something will be introduced last-minute for a shorter spell of funding (2-3 weeks).... otherwise, I don’t know why they are staying around.....
Can he block retroactive pay for the federal workers who have overrun VA?
Shroomer is back in his seat..... maybe someone is supposed to introduce a new last-minute res.
Otherwise, I don’t know what they are hanging around for....
They were not devoted enough to them to pass DACA as a law when they had control. I love to remind all those sputtering about DACA now about that.
Durbin has had how long to get DACA passed (and before that DREAM since 2001) and now it is all Trump's fault?
Pig f*rnicators, every last one.

Wife and I happened to be on vacation (pre-planned) to Williamsburg at that time. They shut down the Williamsburg-to-Jamestown parkway, and had put up hundreds (if not thousands) of bright-and-shiny orange and white plastic saw-horse barricades, even blocking off “point of interest” parking pull-offs along roads that were open. Wonder how much all of those cost.
The kicker was when they blocked off access to Mt. Vernon, until the private organization that runs the place pointed out that they weren’t subject to the shutdown!
Quite the memorable journey through Obama waste and abuse.
Oh, I remember the stories on how they spent more money than they usually would have just to block off places so people would notice.
The Mount Vernon one was hysterical.
I was not personally affected in the least.
We have active duty family members and they are being warned to plan for not getting paychecks. This is what is on the website- looks like something could be passed to get them paid but that would depend on the Democrat’s tantrum level.
The Schumer Shutdown.
McConnell getting ready to speak....
