Well for what it is worth, it did not fare well in Mexico to have a STRONG union running the Education Dept. That Secretary is today in prison. Teachers became activist to shut down highways and schools and cared very poorly for the quality eduction of students. Their ROLE model is pathetic. Time to toss out the NEA.
Lily is a liar.
Strong unions help to create strong schools for students and even stronger communities that benefit all of us. This, we know.
BS, the NEA's chief reason for existence is NOT to educate children, it's to make sure the NEA bureaucrats are well paid and that incompetent teachers cannot be terminated.
They could care less about the kids.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Outlaw collective bargaining in the public sector . The taxpayers are not represented.
The NEA is a hate group.
my not really paid teachers who were nuns did a better job than almost all teachers today...
it probably could be proven that the old timey teachers...the ones before the trivial "education" degrees were required...brought the educational level of all their students up substantially in every single way....
they literally helped lead to the greatest expanse of scientific and literary and economic and industrial output in the world in the late 1800's and on...
not so much anymore...
infact it can be said that our intellectual standards have fallen demonstratively since the NEA and their crew of teacher bots have taken over...
Rigged economy? The one in which taxes have been lowered and companies are VOLUNTARILY awarding bonuses and raises?
Strong unions help to create strong schools for students and even stronger communities that benefit all of us. This, we know.
If so then why isnt the public school system a disaster?
Strong unions help to create strong schools for students and even stronger communities that benefit all of us. This, we know.
Total Bovine Excrement. I attended a local Grammer and High School before it was taken over by the NEA.
The school went downhill from there.
Y’know, Lily—You might be in a little better position if the kids y’all teach could actually read, write, and do math.
Maybe not really. While unions existed, the big push began after the end of the Civil War. As freed blacks migrated north seeking wages for their only skills - strong backs and high work ethics, unions of WHITE MEN formed to restrict work for the newcomers who undercut wages.
President Trump needs to declare the NEA a terrorist organization and its members enemy combatants.
Sorry, unions are the shackle that is destroying schools; if it wasn’t for your quick maneuvers in the 1970’s and early 1980’s to not fund retirements and kick the can down the road for later school boards to pay (and hey, we need a raise...), there wouldn’t be hundreds of billions in unfunded pension benefits. My local school district is spending 43% of the yearly budget to pay for people who no longer work for the district. Imagine what those funds could mean to schools, much less current teachers operating under slashed retirement benefits and wages because you stole the money first.
Strong union government schools have been an abject and total expensive failure.
THAT... WE know.
So just buzz off!
The simple truth that the NEA will NEVER admit is that teachers unions have destroyed education in the USA.
Before there were teachers unions, teachers taught and children learned.
Since teachers unions have been allowed, teachers did everything BUT teach and children have suffered.
Labor unions have nearly ruined America!
The waning death of unions....good riddance.
Sure bub.
"When the children start paying union dues I'll start caring about the children."
Even dedicated teachers have their hands tied by humanist, socialist curricula they are forced to follow, thanks, in part, to the NEA. But every once in a while, you still hear stories about an child whose life was changed for the better by a teacher. In most school systems, they’re no longer allowed to run a classroom in a disciplined way. It’s a free for all, where out-of-control kids set the tone and make the rules.
