To: Forgotten Amendments

Terrible story but it seems to me there were some freepers here against the Bundy family. I forget the reasons why.

Sadly, even FR has it’s share of $hit balls trolling around.

I believe the main two reasons for people opposing the Bundy's were that:

1) It was not good optics. They made the Right look like the cartoonish militia men of liberals' fever dreams, and

2) Some believed that the land was indeed federal property and the Bundy's were basically living off it illegally. They should have been glad for the time they had and gave it up freely when asked.

I don't think that many people dug deeply into the story to compare the claims of the Bundy's against those of the Feds. Nor did people dig deeply into how the actual conflict began and escalated.

People were just going with their guts, which is understandable given the shear volume of injustice and decadence presented to us via FR on a daily basis.

Apparently the Bundys are not user-friendly in real life, and that engendered some apathy and hostility to their cause.
