The fact that so many people are so easily "fooled" into thinking Garcetti, and his dad, are just Italian-American or just American is an indication of how much they've assimilated. And the mayor is also Jewish, because his mother is.

Garcetti is a typical Democrat of today, and the fact that you can find Democrat mayors across the country who say and do the same thing suggests that it's not just because his grandmother was Mexican.

The amount of pan handling and street begging has gotten way worse - really bad around former “high end” areas like the Beverly Center and down Beverly Blvd. Corner of Beverly Blvd and La Cienega taken over by people asking you for money.
