If Democrats Take the House, They'll Impeach Trump
American Thinker.com ^ | January 18, 2018 | Steve Feinstein

Historically, the first midterm elections in a new president's first term result in major losses for the president's party. The most famous recent example was in 1994, following the 1992 election of Bill Clinton. In spite of Clinton's oratorical skill, favorable media coverage, and appealing looks and smooth demeanor, the 1994 midterms were a disaster for the Democrats.

Led by the "villainous, scary" Newt Gingrich, Republicans won 54 House seats. In what came to be called the "Republican Revolution," they wrested congressional control away from Democrats for the first time since 1952. Once in control, Gingrich instituted his Contract with America programs, a series of congressional initiatives designed to implement what the Republicans felt was their electoral mandate from the populace. The liberal media hated Gingrich and the Republicans and resented their victory tremendously, ceaselessly deriding the Republican-controlled efforts and referring to it as the "Contract on America."

Similarly, during Ronald Reagan's first term in 1982, his Republican Party lost 27 congressional seats, despite Reagan's overwhelmingly lopsided presidential victory over the hapless Jimmy Carter just two short years prior. It appears that even popular presidents coming off strong wins are susceptible to profound congressional losses in the first contest out of the gate.

The Republicans may well lose control of Congress in 2018 for the first time since 2006. This is significant, because one of the things a congressional majority has the power to do is bring articles of impeachment against a sitting president.

Even if a Dim House impeaches, there will not be 67 votes for removal in the Senate. Plus, I think even some Dims are smart enough to realize that impeachment should not be weaponized because, like when they exercised the nuclear option, it may well come back and bite them in the ass later.

They can try but they will never remove him from the office we elected him to hold . I assure them of that. There will be blood everywhere if they try. They need to try to win an election. Put some lipstick on that pig Oprah and run her. Im sure she can do the economy better than Trump? NOT

Which will trigger CW 2.0.

Which frankly may be the only way to save the country at this point.

It didn’t seem to bother Clinton or the media at the time.

“The Republicans may well lose control of Congress in 2018 for the first time since 2006.”

Dude, who wrote this. Facts are WRONG. Might as well be Fake News.

Impeach him for what?

It's not a court of law.
The majority can vote to impeach on the thinnest of made up reasons.

Democrats are still seething over the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

They know that Bill's place in history is forever tarnished by his impeachment and are determined to get payback by dirtying up the honor and historical record of a republican president.

They don't care about basing an impeachment on a valid offense - they just want the payback to balance the scales as they see it.

And right now there is no one in the entire world they would rather screw over than President Trump.

That is one very important reason why McConnell and Ryan need to get over their resentment of President Trump and get busy producing results.

One major Trump agenda item (the tax bill) per year is not enough to protect the house and senate majorities this November.

Historical context... The Dems lost the House for the first time in 40 years after Hillary tried to nationalize our healthcare industry. They lost it again when Obama did...

yup...i read the funniest thing on twitter the other day...some guy posted something to the tone of “people talk about Civil War II coming. I hope that doesn’t happen but how long could a war like that last when one side believes in the 2nd Amendment and the other side isn’t sure what gender they are?”

Impeachment won’t trigger it....but a conviction might. MAYBE. But, I’ve long said that CWII is the only way to actually save American. Hopefully, we can just split into two or three countries peacefully. I don’t want to live like them, and they don’t want to live like me...so why should we force the other?

They don’t like him, that’s reason enough for them.

There is not going to be a Civil War II.

I’m under the firm belief that 90% of the population cares and knows more about Pop Tarts, Dancing with the Stars, and the Kardashians than they ever would care about their freedoms being taken away.

Very few Americans have any kind of fight in them.

I know that, because it is the House that impeaches.

Because Liberals are, at their core, maniacal control freaks. They'll be compelled to FORCE you to want to live like them. And then they'll PUNISH you for not wanting to live like them in the first place.

There were hundreds of reason to impeach that lying arrogant pos, but they were afraid to, and I am sure you know why.

"HATE and the promise of impeachment is what will motivate leftists to send PACs tens of millions to elect Democrats."

With the news that's breaking right now (2:00PM PST) regard the IG report on the FBI conspiracy to tilt the election the democrat party could be relegated to the cellar for several election cycles.

News Flash!!!

We lost both Houses in the 2006 midterm election , because so many on our side wanted to teach the GOP a lesson . So they stayed home and that gave the rats the majority in both houses. It took eight years until the Republicans got the majority in the Senate back. They did much sooner in the House
