Wouldn’t it be easier to take the yellow areas and give it back to Mexico, then build the wall along the western border?

How would you keep “Old Californians” OUT of “New California”?

I think a lot of people have too much time on their hands, and they’re wasting a lot of it on foolish grandstanding..

It could turn out to be the Kalifornia version of North and South Korea.

“The yellow counties are the primary source of Kalifornia’s insanity.
The blue counties are the primary source of Kalifornia’s water ;) “

Yes, and as a “blue county” resident, it would be fun to go take a leak in the water heading to the “yellow counties” downstream of my connection. Always willing to contribute to their “needed minerals!”

“Would San Diego be the capital of New California?”

Absolutely not! Too many Mexicans there. The Capitol of New California should be more centrally located.

Maxine Waters’ district is just north of LA and I always thought Orange County was conservative. Is this “rural” separatist concept more conservative? California needs to be subdivided into several states but I’m not sure this is a good start.

“Seems to me the one thing that ‘New California’ lacks is a sheltered deep water port. “

Not if Contra Costa County is included. Tankers deliver crude oil to refineries in Martinez (Shell& Tesoro), Phillips (Rodeo), and Chevron (Richmond). Also the San Joaquin River is deep water all the way to Stockton.

The last state to be formed from another was West Virginia, a separation that was not approved by Virginia. Only the Union Army prevented Virginia and the Confederacy from squashing the separatist movement. The forming of a new state requires the approval of the old state’s legislature, under the Constitution. The separation of West Virginia was a wartime measure.

I read the article that seemed to indicate there would be a pathway, of course, I am fuzzy on the history of West Virginia, but I suppose it was possible there was an agreement to do that.

LOL, you forgot the “/s” tag at the very end!
