It all comes down to where you draw the line between usefulness and security. And how far you take it. For instance, I would not buy one of those devices like Alexa that is constantly listening. At the same time I know my smartphone is most likely doing the same thing. I have family pictures and videos on Dropbox. I don’t keep copies of my tax returns or investments there. You may draw the line a bit closer to “cabin in the woods” than me....and that’s OK.

The cloud only exists because of data mining and being able to provide a dumbed down user device free from internal storage management issues.
