I’m currently on the Hudson River just above Albany, and hope to move outta this place, too.

One of my kids moved to Roanoke Virginia, and eventually bought a house in Salem. It’s a surprisingly nice area, the people are lovely and diverse, from all over the country. The younger set tends to be liberal but I think you’ll find that in most places.

Salem/Roanoke has an outstanding Parks System, loads of things to do, beautiful vistas, 4 seasons but not as bad as NE.

Housing is affordable but tends to few options- New built Brick Colonials 200g and over, 1 Story Brick Ranches 100g or so, and trailers or prefab homes on acreage. There are older homes and most of them are beat to $#!+.

The economy is good, the area has the most medical professionals per capita in the country. Hospitals, colleges and schools are the major employers. Plenty of shopping.

I never would have pinned Roanoke to my map of Places to Move To, but that’s where I’m headed ASAP.

You dont care that the commie libs are turning Virginia into a liberal state?

I had planned to move to Virginia Breach before the recent political bloodbath where the GOP lost their House majority. I never thought I would see the day.

Once Virginia goes solid commie lib, their laws and taxes will be as bad as CA or NY or WA or any of the rest of them. It may take 10 years, but mark my words. It is coming.
