A Marine is behind bars for defending himself and his family from an armed thug.
It was an ordinary evening for Joey Nelson. He was at home with his fiance, their 3 week old child, and a couple of friends. Then, all of a sudden, they were startled by violent pounding on the front door, and someone trying to force their way in. Nelson grabbed his gun and told the thug to leave. That’s when things turned violent.

Thank the good Lord I live in Texas. But depending on the size of the police department you might have to clean the mess up yourself.

Law enforcement agencies in Texas have learned that no-knock raids, and especially during the night, is not a good plan.
Have been a number of no-knock raids in which the homeowners have shot and killed Law enforcement officers; and the prosecutors could not get the grand juries to indict the homeowner.
Yes, it makes you wonder if the author even speaks English.

What offense are we talkin’ bout here? Somebody just standing around 1500 feet away or someone charging the place with guns blazing or ?
This $hit makes my blood boil. Look who’s the prosecutor. Wilson should be the one in jail... but that makes too much sense. What was her motivation to bring the charges she made? And what information was given to her by the arresting officers?
Note to self:... stay the “F” away from Detroit!

I’m thinkin’ it’s not a bad idea for a guy to consider what is a shoot/don’t shoot situation ahead of time. If he goes picking off people just because they’re 1500 hundred feet from his place, I think he’d likely have a few questions to answer.
That is the way I read it. Some nut shooting into the house and the marine returned fire. I would have as well. If I am on the jury and this indeed is how the event happened this guy walks.
The author is clearly a product of the public education system. They probably graduated with honors in their English classes.
