(Reuters) - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV FCH.MI (FCAU.N) said on Thursday it would invest more than $1 billion in its Michigan plant and add 2,500 jobs as it benefits from the overhaul of the U.S. tax code.
The company said it would spend the money to modernize the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan to produce its Ram Heavy Duty trucks.
The company will relocate the trucks production from its current location in Saltillo, Mexico, to the Michigan plant in 202O.
The car maker also said it would make a special bonus payment of $2,000 to about 60,000 FCA hourly and salaried employees in the United States.

D*mn. Trump found that magic wand that eluded 0bama.
Look at all the people who have already benefitted.
And don't forget that a lot of ordinary people made some big bucks in the market, too.
Bump!
Thanks to Trump, Snyder and all ya’ll.
$2,000 ??? Mere “crumbs” according to corrupt millionairess Nancy Pelosi !!
I assume the UAW leadership is falling all over themselves trying to be the first to thank the president.
From Mexico to Michigan in 2020?
What else is happening in Michigan in 2020 .... again?
Trump continuing to screw up the economy. Hillary would’ve been so much better for us. /butt-hurt snowflake moron off
All we needed to do is replace the OBAMSTER with a real patriot and positive things will happen. Happy to see that the new RAMS will be built in Michigan. I have a Ram built in Mexico and it is in a word 'CRAP'.
How often can and should the GOP, particularly those campaigning for office in 2018 say: “It’s about the economy stupid”? Everyday.
Rush said today that 81 companies have made substantial gifts and bonuses because of the new tax law.
Those great economic policies put in place under President Obama just keep paying dividends, don’t they? (So my leftie friends keep telling me.)
Popp is awesome.
And how about the thousands of jobs that will be created by outside suppliers for those trucks...
Chrysler won’t be building engine blocks, rings, pistons, nuts, bolts, bearings, batteries, and many, many other things that go into making vehicles...Those things are made by outside suppliers...
Sounds fantastic to those who want to work.
Nuevo León’s loss is Michigan’s gain. I doubt Fiat would want to get out of a communistic excrement pit like Saltillo just to move to slightly less left wing, slightly less corrupt excrement pit like Detroit if there weren’t some major tax benefits.
