The revolution will be televised, thats the word coming down from NBC executives who say they will televise any player who chooses to protest the anthem during the Super Bowl. When you are covering a live event, you are covering whats happening, NBC Sports EP Fred Gaudelli told reporters at the Television Critics Association on Tuesday.
If there are players who choose to kneel, they will be shown live, he said.
Gaudelli explained that, if a player chose to protest during the anthem, NBC broadcasters Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth would likely give the playerss name, some background on the a protests, and then get on with the game.
According to Fox News, The anthem will be aired live and is scheduled to be performed by Pink. Potential protesters will have an opportunity to make a statement in front of a massive audience, as 112.2 million people watched Super Bowl LI last season the fifth most-watched program in television history.
The NFLs anthem protest movement began in the preseason of 2016, when then-49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick first sat, then knelt, in protest against police brutality. Kaepernick continued his protest throughout the 2016 season, but has not suited-up for another NFL team since walking away from his contract in San Francisco at the end of that year.
Despite Kaepernicks absence in 2017, the protest movement he began continued without him. Increasing in intensity during Week 3 of the season, after President Trump blasted the protesting players at a political rally. During that weekend over 200 players, executives, and coaches, protested the anthem and President Trump.

I don't watch the NFL or NBC.
Sounds like advertisers may be going political, too.
The super what?
I hope the NFL requires the players to stay in the locker room until after the Anthem. Just to bust NBC’s bubble.
I don't care how clever the commercials are, they couldn't get me to watch this without a truck-load of cash.
Besides, I'll just catch them online, or forget about it.
Patriots vs Eagles...viewership 33% lower than any Super Bowl since 1976!
Hell, the commercials aren’t even what they used to be.
There are other, much more exciting and entertaining things to do than watch the so-called “superbowl”, which is nothing more than a bunch of overpaid idiots trying to impress the rest of us. No superbowl here!
Too bad they can’t show the protesting EX-Fans, who will NOT BE WATCHING the Super Bowl.
Maybe someone who does twitter or Instagram could start a thread where people post their own pictures, of what they are doing instead of watching the game.
NBC won’t be showing them to me.
Another nail in the coffin...
I’m not watching.More important things in life to do.
I’ll skip that part, thanks.
+ a few millions
Patriots vs Minnesota...
Eagles have a broken wing(Without Wentz)
Not that it will matter, rating wise.
[ NBC Will Show Protesting NFL Players Live On Camera During The Super Bowl ]
Awesome. That should help kill the NFL.
Die, NFL. Die.
Of course they will, and then they won’t be able to figure out why the ratings are lower than expected.
I wonder if they plan to pay players to kneel.
That's why the cameras all pan away when the crazy painted drunk guy runs on the field and has to be chased down by stadium security.
Hell, the commercials arent even what they used to be.
Same can be said for the half time show.
As for the commercials, they will all be on youtube so if interested they can be watched. We will be skipping the superbowl this year
