Kellyanne Conway: Trump Has 'Discovered' a Physical Wall is Not Needed Everywhere
PJ Media ^ | 01-11-2018 | Michael van der Galien

Build the wall, build the wall! Remember how Trump supporters were chanting those three words constantly whenever their Great Leader gave a speech? Well, guess what? Trump is having second thoughts.

[TWEET FROM MANU RAJU]

Twitter Ads info and privacy You'd think that a presidential candidate would consult with experts before or at least during the campaign, but clearly, Trump begged to differ. He only did so after he became president and had told his base hundreds of time that "the wall" would be built, that it wouldn't be a mere "fence," and that technology wouldn't suffice either. No, no, this had to be a real, physical wall.

Or not. Apparently, Trump is now happy with a fence and technological security as well.

Is this what his "nationalist-populist" base voted for?

Okay, what’s the big deal? I’m sure everyone realized there are areas that a wall won’t work. Fine, but that doesn’t excuse a wall along most of the length of the border.

Trump caved...

Parts of the border have no need for physical barrier - true. BUT - much of the latest proposal is garbage - just more of the old, tired, and ineffective “fence” with a few cameras...

I love it when the Fake Media is so concerned that we Conservatives get what we want.

Not just about the wall that is going to be needed to give border security time to confront invading hordes, but just what exactly are laws for citizenship anymore? Seems like those that invade are given most preferred status.

My thoughts as well. People need to chill. As Trump learns the facts, he adjusts accordingly.

I'm sure he has been well aware for a very long time....So he wants a wall....and he gets a fence....

I've seen the prototypes...and I'm sure he has also.

We're going to get a fence and Trump has a cheshire cat smile on his face.

So the Dems can get what they have always vied for....a fence....a great big beautiful fence....

Read the Art of the Deal.

;-)

“”Trump has “discovered” a physical wall is not needed across entire border; part of it is better technology, part of it is fencing, etc””

Trump is absolutely correct with that statement. There was never going to be a wall across the entire southern border. El Paso to the west coast is the only place you could build it, plus that right away is already owned by the US. The Rio Grande is a whole different story with a different border line.

He learned that just about every Dem has said they wanted a fence....and in fact there was "Fence" legislation. I'll look it up again. I read it yesterday.

The prototypes tell the story and they came about under his direction. I believe he is going to inspect them soon.

So the Border Patrol Union and the ICE Union aren’t expert enough for you? Sounds to me as if you have been listening to what the Fake News says about what the President has said and done, instead of listening to what President Trump has said and done. Sad!

Sounds like were just going to continue with the Secure Fence Act of 2006. I doubt we’ll see any 50 ft walls. Pretty much as I suspected all along - we’ve been building the wall since 2006 - Trump can’t loose on this one.

As Mark Steyn has said, there is no market for a pro-immigration Trump. If he has nothing substantive accomplished by the next election, he is going home. He will be nothing more than the second coming on George Herbert Walker Bush.

during the campaign, Trump said repeatedly that there was not going to be a wall from sea to sea, that in some areas fencing was enough when coupled with Border Patrol activity, and some areas have natural barriers. He said that about half the border would have an actual wall.

So, it doesn’t sound as if he has really changed anything.

Now, he has to stick to building a wall where needed, fencing where that will work, increase Border Patrol activity, and set up a visa tracking system to catch the hundreds of thousands of people who come on a visa and never leave.

It’s a recycled canard that retards in the comments latch onto to scream and stamp their feet.

Count up the posts. It’s a great survey of who on this site aren’t the brightest bulbs.

The Senate vote was 80 to 19 for the fence act. That included 20 Dems, including Obama, Hillary, Schumer. Nuff said.

It's gonna be a great, big, beautiful fence, aka a wall/barrier, with some added technology.

That open meeting was a trap for the Dems. Better plan than the two empty chairs.
