A federal judge ruled late Wednesday in favor of President Donald Trump and the White House over the control of the national financial watchdog agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
In a 46-page opinion, Judge Timothy Kelly denied Leandra English, the deputy director of the CFPB, a preliminary injection that would have stopped Mick Mulvaney, Trumps budget director, from taking on a second role as acting director of the agency.
The conflict arose late last month when Richard Cordray, named by President Barack Obama to lead the CFPB, stepped down and named English as his replacement. In response, the White House named Mulvaney as the replacement for Cordray.
This is the second time Kelly ruled has against English, who sought an emergency restraining order against Mulvaney to keep him from taking over the agency. In that first ruling last month, Kelly, a Trump appointee who took the bench last year, expressed skepticism about whether English would prevail in her case.
Because the court has determined that English is not likely to succeed on the merits, the balance of the equities would necessarily weigh against granting her an injunction, Kelly said in his opinion.

More win.

This seemed like a real stretch to me.
Thanks your honor.
What a precedent it would have set if the court did not favor Trump. At some point the swamp is going to have to accept that it doesn’t rule the world anymore.
I agree with your take on it.
Can’t wait until that DACA ruling (yesterday or this morning) is overturned.
This is a big win.
If the Fed is truly nothing more than an independent then how and why can it be allowed to directly fund a bureaucracy like this?
Good news bump.
I don’t know anything about this agency or the Fed’s relationship to it.
Secure all documents and electronic files now. I’m sure thee b!tch has gotten rid of everything she could so far.
This is definitely a win.
Could claim that it was in preparation for the Pentagon audit - and what leftist could be against that audit?
This agency nedds to ne closed down and dismantled
lol! However, on a more serious note I think the Executive Branch, excuse the pun, had all the Trump cards.
Sorry ....but English was locked out of her office....locks changed...badge de-activated and her office secured in the early morning when Mulvaney arrived on the job.
Exactly.
Great job Mulvaney very heads up move.....Now bring in the auditors and find out where all the money went from all the subjective fines and payoffs then Mr AG hang there asses from a bridge in the swamp and impeach Sen Warren for the crooked things she pulled as the force behind this den of thieves..
This was a real good win
