Was the DNC/Clinton campaign-funded dossier used to obtain Trump FISA warrant?
Sara A. Carter ^

The unverified dossier alleging connections between President Trump’s campaign and the Russians was used as evidence by the FBI to gain approval from a secret court to monitor members of Trump’s team, this reporter has learned.

A large portion of the evidence presented in the salacious 35-page dossier put together by former British spy Christopher Steele, has either been proven wrong or remains unsubstantiated. However, the FBI gained approval nevertheless to surveil members of Trump’s campaign and “it’s outrageous and clearly should be thoroughly investigated,” said a senior law enforcement source, with knowledge of the process.

Multiple sources told this reporter that the dossier was used along with other evidence to obtain the warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, known as FISC. The sources also stressed that there will be more information in the coming week regarding systemic “FISA abuse.”

“(The dossier) certainly played a role in obtaining the warrant,” added another senior U.S. official, with knowledge of the dossier. “Congress needs to look at the FBI officials who were handling this case and see what, if anything, was verified in the dossier. I think an important question is whether the FBI payed anything to the source for the dossier.”

On Wednesday, Sean Hannity said he has also independently confirmed that the dossier was used to obtain the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) warrant from three separate sources.

ne very senior source said the dossier played “a significant role” in obtaining the warrant Hannity said on his radio show Wednesday.

FBI officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

The whole story is a mess. Wasn’t it just yesterday that the though was that a FISA warrant wasn’t issued. And that our foggy bottom guys asked the UK foggy bottom guys to dig up the dirt with our own Intel since it wasn’t against the law for them to do it but would be if our guys did, or something to that effect?

They needed the FISA warrant as cover for the surveillance that was already taking place?

That would explain a lot.

"We are surely sliding into a fascist and post Constitional America."

I totally agree.... We use to pride ourselves as a nation of law and order... That's no longer the case... It would seem that there is a segment of our government that puts it self completely above the law.. The only unfortunate cure for the problem is violence...

I see revolution in our future..

Article V and/or a secession. No need for revolution. Just separate and from new countries from existing states.

The cover story of "national security" used to spy on Trump might hold for the investigating agencies, but if it can be proven that any of the data gleaned from such "investigation" found its way to the Clinton campaign... well, I'd bet Clinton will then truly throw Huma under the bus.

I do wonder if Seth Rich was murdered because he found out about this "investigation" and the funneling of data to Clinton's campaign.....

It was reported this week that Nunes received the FISA applications from the DOJ.

Ok, so we have applications, did any get approved?

Just trying to not take for granted something that hasn’t been proven.

Similarily, Kennedy's casket would not fit through the door to load it on Air Force ONE to take it to Washington.

The conspirators broke off the handles to get it on the airplane. Kennedy's body could NOT stay in Dallas or else we would know the truth about the JFK assassination.

Problem that has come up in all administrations is for Democrats, they weaponize the DOJ and for the Republicans, the Democrats paralyze the DOJ so the Republicans cannot prosecute the Democrats. I don’t think the Republicans figured this out yet.

Sessions has been hampered due to being overwhelmed with investigations and not enough IG’s to handle the workload. This means he has to prioritize and while most of us want to see Hillary locked up, that probably isn’t his number one priority.

As with all things political, there are details that get lost as new news and spin come to light. One is there was a credible charge that Obama-era intel cronies had a warm relationship with their British counterparts at GCHQ, the British equivalent of the NSA. It seems the Brits spied on Americans and vice versa to get around pesky rules that make it unlawful for a county to spy on its own people. So it shouldn’t be surprising that a Brit was used to create the dossier, even as there were numerous American “ex-spies” completely capable of creating the rubbish that became the dossier. Secondly, the dossier essentially is raw intel, the kind that the FBI collects when conducting due diligence on cabinet appointments. There is a very good law that prevents disclosure of such raw intel because it’s unverified. Go back to 1992 and remember that Hillary’s hatchet man was found with thousands of raw FBI files of political foes. Why would one need such information?
