The former British spy who compiled a dossier of allegations about Donald Trumps presidential campaign and Russia brought the document to the FBI in July 2016 because he was worried about whether a political candidate was being blackmailed, according to a congressional interview transcript released Tuesday.
California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, revealed the transcript from an August closed-door interview with Glenn Simpson, a co-founder of the political opposition research firm Fusion GPS. The firm commissioned the dossier, which was initially paid for by a conservative website and then later by Democrats, including Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.
Feinstein made the transcript public over the objections of Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who called the move confounding in a statement shortly after Feinstein made it public. Grassley said the release could undermine attempts to interview other witnesses in the committees investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
In the transcript, Simpson said Christopher Steele, the former British spy who wrote the dossier, took it to the FBI and said his concern was whether or not there was blackmail going on, whether a political candidate was being blackmailed or had been compromised.

Is ‘journalist’ Mary Clare Jalonick really that gullible, or is she just another AP/Democrat shill?*
(*Of course it is possible that she is both.)
There is one important corroboration in the Fusion GPS deposition being that Simpson says that after the election Steele submitted some more stuff that made up a final memo. Based on deposition it appears that the memos are not necessarily in exact order and there may be three pages missing in what BuzzFeed published. At some point Steele dried up - this seems to correspond with the first FISA being denied or Rogers catching on and shutting down the intercept requests ... meanwhile Nellie Orh is writing stuff using her ham radio setup. It sounds like Orh conveyed to Steele what the FBI(M) needed for the later FISA warrant and - voila - it’s produced and Steele probably got paid for his “expenses” going to Rome to take it to FBI(M). Simpson says in deposition that he thought Steele had simply stopped doing things because they thought the FBI(M) was being intimidated by Trump during the summer of 2016 (don’t laugh! They said it!) Then Steele is given something he adds and voila, FISA granted! Simpson was asked isn’t that suspicious that the Russians would give material for last memo to Steele that way? Simpson admitted, sure, obviously, but Steele is an expert! lol
The whole thing reads like that was the intent in the first place - put all the things back on the table that Simpson wouldn’t testify to & lawyers objected, in a criminal case, he’ll take the 5th immediately. This was produced & released in this way to get their spin on it ... but therein they still provide plenty to get in trouble and there is nothing real or true underlying anything they did.
They know it, they are just holding that back in case they have to roll out the old “they did it too” excuse... every time Democrats rob millions from a bank they like to have a republican caught red-handed taking a mint from the candy dish so they can claim moral equivalency.
Still wondering how many Russian email penpals masquerading as underage girls were ‘treated’ to a view of Weiner.
Who knew the US-UK special relationship would include courtesy candidate screenings of American presidents?
If only they could have screened Washington and Jefferson for Barbary blackmail...
Dems are desperate now!
The ONLY person that could be Blackmailed is HILLIARY CLINTON and the Clinton Crime Family Slush Fund because they were getting BRIBES ALREADY from the Russians!!! Whoever thinks Trump can be blackmailed is REALLY stupid....he’s an open book!
And only RETARDS BELIEVE the Dossier! Common Sense screams NO FREAKING WAY!
Gonna have it spinning so fast it will just fly apart and the shrapnel will take out those too close to it...
Thanks... I didn’t see that one, but had some RTs on another similar one on Twitter.
