David Cameron thought Barack Obama was one of the 'most narcissistic, self-absorbed people' he had ever dealt with, his former strategy guru has claimed.

While in office the two leaders had a cosy bromance and were pictured high-fiving and playing rounds of golf and ping pong together.

But Steve Hilton tore into Mr Obama for thinking he was 'smarter' than everyone else in the room.

And he claimed that his old boss Mr Cameron would get wound up by the ex President's self absorption.

I'm just curious if there was ever another editor of the Harvard Law Review who never wrote anything for it?

Or whoever actually had his election to the U.S. Senate rigged in the same way as BO so he wouldn't have to do any work to win? As I recall, even her Royal Thighness Hillary had to actually campaign for her New York Senate seat.

Got elected to a high position, and let it go to her/his head. And they automatically became smarter and better than anyone else, and behaved like queen/king.

Maybe. It's certainly possible.

But there's what we could call the "Michael Wolff phenomenon": confirmation bias.

People hear what they want to hear and form judgements on that basis.

Whatever evidence doesn't fit the conclusion one's already formed doesn't get through and affect one's assessment.
