California will find a way to negate this for californians

PG&E will hike rates. Whether it is from being sued for poor maintenance practices or Californians conserving energy, they'll jack up the rates to increase profits.

Pretty much how it goes in this state. We're using half the water we used 8 years ago in our house, and our water utility bill has almost doubled during that time.

I don’t know if it’s the same in California, but out east, Utility companies have to get approval from the Public Utility Commission to raise rates.
