An obstinate refusal to accept reality is the hallmark of children. And that's perfectly okay, because they have half-formed brains and they are learning to navigate the complex logical rules that govern life. In fact, sometimes it's loads of fun, as the parents reading this post can attest.
I noticed in this morning's NYT an article about how complex flood zone mapping can be, because a difference of a few feet has profound financial implications for those involved, including the taxpayer. But embedded in the article was a typical NYT throwaway line about Global-WarmingTM.
New York will be the first major metropolis to be remapped taking into account the realities of climate change, like rising sea levels and increasingly powerful storms.

They’re faces will turn blue and blow up if they were to hold their breath until they get what they want.
Which I am not entirely sure they know what they want.. but I am certain it involves someone else flipping the bill.
This mental illness created by the left is from decades of poor parenting.
They confuse self esteem as assertiveness and rather than confront their children and discipline them, they appease them to quiet them down. In actuality, all they are doing is teaching them to be more aggressive and violent until they get their way. (Same as Clinton with North Korea and Obama with Iran )
Last night I watched the excellent movie, Darkest Hour. It was fabulous and I can’t recommend it enough. It was the battle between Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement policy by submitting to Hitler vs. Churchill’s “We must be free even if it means fighting to our death” policy. I observed the same appeasement policy allow WWII to happen.
My father was 86 in 1996 when Clinton was running for re-election. My father commented that Clinton would win and we would be at war. Puzzled, I asked him why.
He replied, I was born in 1910 and we are four out of four that second term Democrat Presidents have gotten us into major wars.
Wilson ran in 1916 under the slogan, “Keep us out of the war.” Then when elected, full scale escalation into WWI.
FDR ran for re-election under the slogan, “No American boots on foreign soil.” Then, full scale escalation into WWII.
Truman finished FDR’s term. His second term, full scale escalation into Korea.
Johnson finished Kennedy’s term. His second term, full scale escalation into Vietnam.
My father explained to me that Democrat foreign policy is like a parent raising their children, and rather than disciplining, they just keep saying “Don’t do that.” They end up with a rebellious teenager with whom they must have a knock down fight to curb their behavior, or let the police, judicial system, and prison system take over.
Republican policy is like the parent who says, “Don’t do that.” And when they repeat the behavior, “WHAM, I told you not to do that.”
If we fail to study history we are enslaved to repeat it, both on an individual family and international level.
It’s great to have a disciplinarian as a president.
You can tell a lot about our foreign policy in the last 10 years by comparing Obama’s children to Trump’s children.
If they really believed it, and cared for their citizens, they would stop issuing building permits and encourage people to move to higher ground.
And it continues unabated.
17 years ago, I stated that "tolerance" will be the death of THE Republic.
Things have only gotten worse.
The list of the proof grows every day.
When the sheeple finally realize how the Dems, media, and “educators” have lied to them, because the truth will be so plain for all to see, they will have incredible psychological torment. Since they don’t have God in their lives they will turn to shrinks. But if the Church is ready, the harvest will be there. In fact, the torment will be so great many will turn to Jesus whether or not the Church is ready.

Reality often has the same impact as a bucket of ice water in the face in that they can both wake a person up to see more clearly.
One problem with today’s society is that we are protecting most people from reality.

Slipshod & naïve interpretations, leaving out most facts, not to mention the ominous trends.
The USA was at its founding a trading nation. It still is. It was never a “city on a hill” (a metaphor, dreamt up after the American War of Independence by propagandists). Trading nations cannot be isolationist - not if they plan to survive.
It can be argued that America was prudent to stay out at the beginning of World War One. After all, few foresaw the stalemate, heavy losses, and widespread chaos thus fostered.
But as 1917 began, the situation had changed. Imperial German leaders declared they would purse unrestricted submarine warfare. US diplomats objected, insisting international agreements and customs of armed conflict - as then understood and practiced - forbade such conduct if it endangered or harmed neutrals.
The Germans had already committed several acts of war against the USA (sabotage at Black Tom Island, Zimmermann Telegram etc), and had killed a fair number of American citizens by sinking vessels (mostly British) on which they had taken passage.
Foreseeing Allied defeat if the nation did not intervene, President Wilson asked Congress to declare war against the Central Powers. Congress voted in favor of war; the vote was not close.
Is tired&retired suggesting Wilson’s campaign promises should have taken precedence over international events that promised widespread ruin for all?
Whether the USA was being realistic about chances of staying neutral but still avoiding depredations to trade and loss of American lives is another question.
When in the 1930s another war loomed in Europe, public sentiment in the United States once again plumped vigorously against American involvement. Such weak indifference, coupled with irresolution from Britain and France, only encouraged German adventurism and expansion.
Once again, Americans were being unrealistic - even blinkered. When Britain and France declared war in September 1939, Nazi Germany commenced unrestricted submarine warfare immediately; the British Empire soon found itself seriously endangered, all over again.
Any cutoff of trade that would have followed British defeat would have brought on economic disaster in the USA.
Even if the country managed to unscramble its wits and gone to war against Germany after a defeat of Britain, fighting to victory would have been a much tougher, lengthier proposition - assuming anything resembling victory would have been possible by then.
Once again, the worldwide situation had changed as the war ground on. The Allies were in peril - more grave, perhaps, than that of World War One.
Once more, the question must be asked: Is tired&retired suggesting FDR’s campaign promises should have taken precedence over international events that promised widespread ruin for all?
And while we are at it, a broader question might be worth considering: Why do so many Americans consider themselves too good to bother with the rest of the world?
And now it’s sexual assault on Snow White for being kissed while she was sleeping? The left has totally lost its mind, anyone care to disagree with that point?
The left AND their tantrums are tiresome. You’ve captured it - holding their collective breaths trying to manipulate adults with stupid antics. We are sooooooo sick of them.

Two years ago I was in Belgium, negotiating with a group of representatives from several EU countries. After a bit, they turned to me and said, you don’t understand.
I listened as they explained to me that my group representing all 50 states was far bigger than all of them combined. It finally hit home. The strength of the unity of our states is like 50 countries working together. We need to use that power to influence a peaceful planet.
While staying humble and benevolent is necessary, we are in a position of extreme power.
The diversity, freedom and tenacity of our country’s citizens to do the right thing gives us a strength beyond imagination of most.
Trump is aware of our united strength. Problem is, with all the infighting we are not realizing our true potential.
I watched the 45 minute bipartisan immigration meeting headed by Trump today. It warmed my heart.
