Talk about emotional scarring to go along with the baby’s facial scarring! Stabbing your dog to death because you know if you don’t he’ll kill your baby! Running for a gun because you know there’s nothing you can do short of killing it to make it stop! No command or punch - get a gun, get a knife then make as much blood happen as possible. Knowing it won’t stop unless it dies. All this while your infant is bleeding? I’d go mad.
There are plenty of better dogs than pit bulls.

I have only known two people in my life that owned pit bulls. Both dogs were the most gentle, friendly, tail wagging creatures anyone could know or want to know. The idea of them turning on their masters or family members wasn't even a tiny blip on a SETI telescope.
Were they a danger to their families?
If you want both dogs and children, go with a Lab.
