President Donald Trump, accompanied by Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen

SAN DIEGO (AP) The Trump administration faces a Monday deadline on whether to extend protections that would allow nearly 200,000 Salvadorans to stay in the U.S. legally.
Citizens of El Salvador are currently the beneficiaries of the Temporary Protected Status program, which provides humanitarian relief for foreigners whose countries are hit with natural disasters or strife.
The administration ended the protections for citizens of Haiti and Nicaragua last year.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, who is tasked with making the decision, told The Associated Press last week that short-term extensions are not the answer.
Getting them to a permanent solution is a much better plan than having them live six months, to 12 months to 18 months, she said in an interview, referring to the uncertainty of short-term extensions.
A decision to force the Salvadorans back to their native country would send shivers through parts of Washington, Los Angeles, New York, Houston and other metropolitan areas that are home to large numbers of Salvadorans...
Snip...
In September 2016, the Obama administration extended protections for 18 months, saying El Salvador suffered lingering harm from the 2001 earthquakes that killed more than 1,000 people and would be unable to absorb such a large wave of people returning.

Getting rid of MS 13, one person at a time.
Shiver their timbers.
Now we just have to make sure they really do leave.
Ping.
gotta get rid of them...if you don’t there’s no leverage for adiosing DACA Dreamers and Pres. Trump will get hammered.
Might as well get hammered now.
Mao said that the revolutionary moves like a fish in the ocean of the proletariat. MS-13 moves like a fish in the lake of Latin American immigrants.
What sanctuary city will invite them all to come to their city....wouldn’t that be a mess. And, how would you like to pay for it.
We can call it a test deportation. They are all too young and too poorly educated to recall Eisenhower’s “Operation Wet Back” with a democrat congress yet. Oh the shock, before Teddy Kennedy cooked up a way to save the failing democrat voter rolls, we had borders.
Karma for voting against the US on the UN Jerusalem issue!!!
Time has come to start sending all illegals back to their country of origin. We can manage a few thousand a week starting in purple states like Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Georgia. If we don’t get serious now we will lose our Country within a few years.
You nailed it.
Trump is keeping score!!! Another win....
I say simply dump them back into Mexico, and not waste tax dollars flying these scum to their countries.
“You nailed it.”
It’s a psychological chess game. And the DACA stakes just went up for the Dem’s.
Now the Dem’s need to put the money in for the wall just to check. And Trump will up it even more between now and the deadline.
Trump knows, the more the opposition has to risk, the greater chance they will make a deal.
OK Dem’s, Trump is enforcing the current law until you make a deal to change it with comprehensive immigration reform.
they have until sept 2019 to have to leave. sure they will burrow in deeper between now and then, and find other ways to stay.
We need, decision and swift follow thru on decisions, not over year and half slack time.
