Was that actually Mika Brzezinski on Morning Joe today, or had someone hacked into the MSNBC feed and inserted a parody bit about elitist, Trump-hating snobs?

“I had some friends that went to Paris over the holiday, and they said they were just viscerally embarrassed to be Americans. They said it was the first time that it was sort of chilling. That they didn’t even want to share where they were from.”

Good point. A couple years ago it occurred to me that being an American is a state of mind — an ideology — and has nothing to do with geography. There are millions of people born in the 50 states who aren’t Americans.

i.e. no, Mika, we are not embarrassed to be americans. In fact, for the first time in almost a decade, we are PROUD to be americans.
All of those Frogs are or could have been Vichy French. Perhaps visiting the coastal rural area would have produced a far different attitude.
