Mika: My Friends Visiting France “Viscerally Embarrassed to be Americans”
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/08/2018 4:12:35 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Was that actually Mika Brzezinski on Morning Joe today, or had someone hacked into the MSNBC feed and inserted a parody bit about elitist, Trump-hating snobs?

We’ll look into it. In the meantime, here’s what “Mika” ostensibly said this morning:

“I had some friends that went to Paris over the holiday, and they said they were just viscerally embarrassed to be Americans. They said it was the first time that it was sort of chilling. That they didn’t even want to share where they were from.”

Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Hey, Mika....this American doesn’t visit Paris, anymore...because, as your pics show and like POTUS Trump has said....Paris isn’t Paris, anymore.

She has no friends who are Americans or knows any Americans.

Aside from never having a hotel room available on time, I have found the French to be almost universally polite and charming.

The only rude interaction I had was when my teenage daughter was not paying attention to where she was going, and spilled he coffee on a very fashionably dressed student at the Sorbonne. She received quite a dressing down in rapid fire French, a lot of which I missed, but clearly this woman had a low opinion of Americans in general, and my daughter in particular.

My daughter apologized for her clumsiness, and we moved on. Walking away, I could tell that my daughter was upset, and I told her not to worry, because she had done this young lady a great favor, because now she could have a great time complaining about the doofus Americans for at least a week!

Like my tagline says....

To most of the rest of the world, WE, the USofA, are the “TOMMY” that Rudyard Kipling is referring to.

Screw us around, overcharge us, overburden us with world debt, hunger etc then basically ‘whizz’ on us BUT the next time some Joker intent on running the world crosses your border, call the UN(which we should not be part of) .

Leave us out of it.

Only problem is WE, the PEOPLE, more than likely wouldn’t allow our Representative Government to just sit back.

Like ‘they’ say, visit the Cemeteries around the world and you can see where the thoughts of the USA lie - and the bodies of the people that tried to rid them if the ‘problem’.

Not much doubt in my mind that if the people who live here, really hate it as bad as they say, go find one of those ‘$hiite holes’ that you are praising, take your money and live there...am sure you will get plenty of donations for ONE WAY TICKETS to the ‘$hiite Hole’ of your liking.

Oh yes, how many carriers, ships, servicemen, etc did the rest of the world send to far off places in times of Natural Disasters?

Why would they tell the French they were friends with Mika?

Don’t get me wrong - of course, like any stereotype, there’s an element of truth to it but it isn’t universal.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in France (business). I’ve also had employees that are French. I’ve had instances where they’ve been, out of nowhere for no good reason, the rudest, smug, know-it-all attitude, a*holes. As employees their expectations are unlike others too - and it now goes to our willingness in hiring them, which came from my boss (think union attitude, yet they’re white collar workers).

I would have thought that they would be embarrassed about being Mika’s friends.

Her friends were embarrassed to be Americans years before Trump arrived.

Her friends are ashamed of American society all the time - and when the POTUS isn’t a socialist, they’re ashamed of American government, too.

Warts and all - and it does have warts - we are proud of American society, ashamed of it only to the extent that if it were perfect we wouldn’t need any government at all. To a greater or lesser degree, we can be ashamed of our government all the time. Because it sure isn’t perfect.

But in all cases, the question is, “Compared to WHAT?"

Whenever I read things like this my skin crawls I am this early disgusted that our citizenry would say anything like this screw them and the horses they rode in on tell them to go visit Arlington visit cemeteries Battlefield cemeteries near their home stand there watch the families come who serve this country so well then go into welfare office and watch the people come in and pick up their checks for doing absolutely nothing then look at the employment opportunities urban areas of different people that live in this country and they have every opportunity if they want to make their lives fabulous and wealthy or they can choose not to and live comfortably and their own skin in a different economic bracket that is not the case in Europe oh and then tell them to go visit any hospital and watch people come in with virtually no insurance and get Immediate Care and lastly tell them to go to Ellis Island and look at the exhibits of the thousands and thousands and thousands of people from France and other countries who left everything to come to the United States of America I don’t see anyone scrambling to leave here and go to Europe but feel free tell her friends feel free please go. I’m sorry this is talk to text no punctuation no caps apologize for any spelling errors I think you get the drift
