“You can’t arrest him just for holding the sign. But there’s no reason you can’t stand next to him with a sign that says “Kill a douchebag” and has an arrow pointing in his general direction. The same freedom of speech that protects him also protects him. And makes him a laughingstock.”
True but the cops always have the catchall of disturbing the peace. They can make an arrest on those terms and see how it plays out.
