The following comments about President Reagan are enlightening because they are so similar to what is said about Trump today. Maybe journalists could just substitute "Trump" for "Reagan" on old material using Microsoft Word and head to the bar. It would be a lot easier than saying the same things in different ways every day. "Prepare yourself for some bad news: Ronald Reagan's library just burned down. Both books were destroyed. But the real horror: He hadn't finished coloring either one of them." Gore Vidal
"For too long in this society, we have celebrated unrestrained individualism over common community. For too long as a nation, we have been lulled by the anthem of self-interest. For a decade, led by Ronald Reagan, self-aggrandizement has been the full-throated cry of this society: 'I've got mine, so why don't you get yours' and 'What's in it for me?'" Joe Biden
"He's cutting the heart out of the American dream to own a home and have a good job ... and still he's popular[.]" Chris Matthews, Tip and the Gipper: When Politics Worked
"We cannot build a vital economy by delivering pizzas to one another." Jim Wright
"In Reagan's world, we have to be geared up to fight a foe that could barely feed its own people. And meanwhile, our real troubles have to be mocked. Global warming. Nuclear proliferation. Corrupt governments supported by my tax dollars and everyone's complacency." Robert Reed, Clarkesworld Magazine, Issue 108
"Despite an unimpressive first term in office, which featured huge tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and tax increases for everyone else, Reagan was re[-]elected in 1984 in an unprecedented landslide, winning forty-nine of the fifty states against hapless Democrat Walter Mondale.

They already do. But they have to rewrite the stories with poor grammar because the old stories are too white.
We could get away from the anti Reagan stuff back then...
There was just ABC CBS NBC and newspapers...
No cable
No talk radio
No internet
No social Media..
But Trump seems is beating it all... Tweeting..
He is also the master of distraction,.,.
He gets stuff done and the media never sees it being done...
The level of viciousness against Trump is 3x what Reagan had to deal with. This is a totally new game where the left is far more radical than then and they are having to watch helplessly as Trump reverses all their gains under Obama. They have become completely unhinged. Collectively insane.
Reagan- “amiable dunce.”
Trump- “least credible man to ever walk the face of the Earth.”
All noise, not worthy of attention.
But "shovel-ready" jobs were OK for Dems when Obozo was Prez....
Having lived through both administrations I disagree. Here are some gems about President Reagan:
Historian Edmund Morris, in his 874-page authorized biography, concludes that Reagan is simply incomprehensible, an airhead who has lived a charmed life.
Diplomat Clark Clifford has called him an amiable dunce,
and Nicholas von Hoffman said it was humiliating to think of this unlettered, self-assured bumpkin being our president.
Tip ONeill flat out said in public, He knows less than any president Ive every known.
Anthony Lewis of the New York Times claimed he had only a seven-minute attention span.
Author Gail Sheehy declared he was half asleep while he was president.
. On the other hand two people who actually got things done had this to say about President Reagan:
While others were distracted by short-term considerations, President Reagan single-mindedly pursued his vast strategic goals and he succeeded. Was there ever a better example of statesmanship in action? Lady Margaret Thatcher
Ronald Reagan played an invaluable role in bringing about the fall of communism and ending the Cold War without resorting to military solutions. This is not something easily found in the world of politics. Lech Walesa, former president of Poland
I suspect those that actually get things done will have similar thigs to say about President Trump.
The msm is good for laughs.
To bad they don’t realize it.
Or maybe not.
I remember them being incredibly vicious with Ronnie Ray Gun, calling him everything nasty under the sun.
I agree, at least considering how indeed amiable Reagan was. Nothing of the sour reactionary that Trump usually is.
To pile on a nice man like Reagan was really unconscionable. He refused to play the childish game of name-calling or complaining he’s taking his ball home.
Trump getting more viciousness? Maybe, but spurred on by his character, which doesn’t help. So proportionally, it’s no more than equal.
Exact-damn-ly.
LOL
Now that’s funny! and true..
