Oh, SNAP! As the kids might say.
One-time block grant to the states and then shut down CMS completely. Let the states take care of the poor and seniors.
*Allowing* states to add requirements? How about *requiring* states to add requirements!
Work?
The horror.
L
Part of the problem is that people who could no longer afford the insane premiums under Obamacare but were required by law to have healthcare were pushed onto medicaid by the state.
What percentage of Medicaid recipients are able-bodied adults who don’t work? Anyone know?
Liberal states will make sure that their privileged buddies don’t have to work. This will allow normal states to keep freeloaders and various non-working immigrants from collecting money.

Over/under on how quick that grant money gets pissed away on BS projects or basic corruption by the blue states??
Seniors are on Medicare, not Medicaid. Seniors, under Obamacare were not allowed to buy other insurance other than govt approved supplimentals. They also were taxed for Medicare from their paychecks and pay a premium out of their SS.
There are tons on both. Especially if they are in a nursing home.
I paid into SS and MEDICARE to the feds not the state. No one paid for their Medicaid it is a freebie that can go.
You’d be surprised how many! I work in a hospital; work with coding and billing. They are unemployed but yet some have money for cigarettes etc.
What percentage of Medicaid recipients are adults who can't get a job because they can't pass a drug test?
Also... how many ILLEGALS ON Medicaid.
I’m hoping this is another deterrent to stop the flow of illegal squatters sneaking into our country.
There are people who work who are on Medicaid. For those who are not working I hope the administration takes into consideration those who are disabled and on SSI who get Medicaid.
I assume one would be a sub-set of the other. What's the answer?
Medicaid was originally started to help out the truly indigent. When it was expanded by states under 0-care, it started to include more able-bodied workers. So, why is it such a surprise, now, that with more Medicaid spending being done, especially on these workers, that there should now be a work requirement to make sure those able-bodied recipients are actually working?
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program? That’s a different vote-generation scheme by the DemocRATS.
