In a lawsuit that echoes a civil case against President Trump, an Alabama woman on Thursday sued failed U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore and his campaign for defamation, citing harsh personal attacks she faced after coming forward with allegations he touched her sexually when she was 14 years old.
Leigh Corfman is not seeking financial compensation beyond legal costs. She is asking for a declaratory judgment of defamation, a public apology from Moore, and a court-enforced ban on him or his campaign publicly attacking her again. She said in a statement that the suit seeks “to do what I could not do as a 14-year-old — hold Mr. Moore and those who enable him accountable.”
A representative of Moore’s campaign, Brett Doster, said he had no immediate comment on the lawsuit, filed in state court in Montgomery County, Ala.
Corfman told The Washington Post in November that when Moore was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney in 1979, he took her to his house, undressed her, touched her over her underpants and bra and guided her hand to touch his genitals over his underwear.
Moore has called Corfman’s allegations of abuse “politically motivated,” “completely false” and “malicious.” On Nov. 10, the day after the story published, he told Sean Hannity of Fox News he had never met Corfman but he did not rule out that he might have dated older teenagers when he was in his 30s.

Moore was a great candidate for the state of Alabama, but fending off lurid accusations from democrat kooks amplified by the media would have only been possible without the backstabbing from Richard Shelby and the other Republicans who denounced Moore before the election.
When your own party treats you like you are a pariah and urges people to vote for someone else, there aren't many candidates that could overcome that.
I'll bet Moore gives her everything she's asking for.

Moore was stabbed in the back by the Swamp creatures in his own party. He was stabbed in the front by the Swamp creatures of the Democrat party. After the stabbings, he was a bad candidate, because he then had stab wounds in both the front and the back.

I cannot help but put a shoe on the other foot. Use of this language, “... an Alabama woman on Thursday sued failed U.S. Senate candidate ...”, appears to me to be part of the toolbox that the LEFT uses against the reprehensible deplorables. To anyones knowledge, has any MSM writer/commentator spoken of Hillary or Bernie as a “failed US Presidential Candidate”? Al Gore or John Kerry?

Doug Jones ran (and got away with it) as a moderate. There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat. He was asked on Morning Joe what issues he could agree with Republicans on, and he could not name one.
Because she has some sort of proof other than her drug-addled-promiscuous-suicide-attempting-40-year-old claims?

I say that I very much doubt she can prove any of her claims, and that she will likely regret opening this can of worms, because her life will be put on trial, and from what i've read of it so far, it's not going to play well.

Moore is going to quietly slink away to enjoy his retirement and the SevenSuperGirls channel on YouTube. He'll apologize to Corfman and never run for office again.
