Were cutting off money for schools, cutting off money for police, allowing people to be forced to live in food deserts, closing hospitals, closing access to mental health facilities, Kennedy told reporters during a news conference that began as a criticism of the citys efforts to stop gun violence.
What choice do people have but to move, to leave, and I think thats part of a strategic gentrification plan being implemented by the city of Chicago to push people of color out of the city, he continued.
Asked who is behind this alleged plan, Kennedy pointed to Emanuel.
I believe in the tone at the top, he said. I believe the mayor is aware of whats going on, and I think he is allowing that to occur and in some ways encouraging it.
Pressed further, Kennedy said: I believe that black people are being pushed out of Chicago intentionally by a strategy that involves disinvestment in communities being implemented by the city administration.

San Francisco is the perfect example of a liberal dream city. The city’s politics are so far left that Lenin probably couldn’t get elected. Yet blacks and other low-income minorities have been driven from the city as prices have risen and neighborhoods have been gentrified by rich liberals and gays. There is zero effort to lure blacks back to the city — the current residents don’t want them.
please keep them there!
Closing hospitals makes blacks move away and whites move in? Do they think white people don’t need hospitals? I don’t understand.
Isn’t it easier to get rid of the blacks than it would be to pull a Giuliani and really clean up the joint?
But on the other hand, look at what Chris bemoans: the guvmint isn’t spending enough money on blacks, with no expectation that blacks do anything to produce anything of value themselves. Meanwhile, Illinois is really forcing productive business and people to flee high taxes while the state goes bankrupt.
The dialog with Chris Kennedy should go something like this:
Chris Kennedy: “The government needs to spend more money on us.”
Taxpayer: “Hey Chris, spell ‘money.’”
Chris Kennedy: “M O N E Y.”
Taxpayer: “You forgot the ‘F’”.
Chris Kennedy: “There’s no ‘F’ in ‘money’”.
Taxpayer: “Now you get it.”
It makes sense when you think about. Chicago has lost a lot of blacks.
No, I still don’t understand how closing hospitals will make blacks move out, but not whites. Explain like I’m 5, if you will, because ...??
And to think, forty years ago blacks were complaining about how they were being “forced” into the cities so we could provoke a war with the USSR and get all of them nuked.

Diversity anyone?
I don’t like race-baiting, even when leftists direct it at each-other.
Its one politician trying to out-patronize and out-agitate gullible black voters. Everyone suffers when this demagoguery takes place.
Why do they not address liquor deserts? It's at least a 6 mile drive for me. Such a hardship.
Ignore the hospitals part, that’s typical liberal hyperbole. Think about the food deserts, no jobs, and rotten schools. It’s by design. Blacks end up with no choice but to leave or stay and get shot to death.
I don’t understand certain things. And probably never will.
Decades ago, white flight from our cities was considered bad, was racist, created bad situations in our cities.
In recent years, whites and other wealthy people moving back and renovating rundown neighborhoods is considered bad.
When whites left the cities, that was bad. Whites moving back in and reviving rundown areas is also bad.
What is a white person to do, to make these activists happy?
from the looks of it, they just want us to all die.
well.....surprise...!!! aint gonna happen any time soon...
Are they moving, and where are they going?
Maybe he means “closing hospitals in black areas of town” as opposed to white areas.
Coming soon to a slum near you and me.
