A European country has become the first in the world to make it illegal to pay men more than women.
In Iceland, firms that employ more than 25 people must now obtain a government certificate demonstrating pay equality, under new rules that kicked in on 1 January.
Those who fail to show equality will face penalty fines, according to broadcaster Al Jazeera.
The law was announced on March 8 on International Women's Day 2017 as part of the Nordic country's drive to eradicate the gender pay gap by 2022.
It comes after the UK reported a 16.9% pay gap between men and women in 2017.

I’ve have NEVER interviewed for a job, or seen a posting that said The pay is X for women, and X+15% for men.
The average pay is irrelevant to any individual pay. A person who is paid more for a job is worth more than someone else.
Yup.
Maybe every employee becomes a private contractor....or, some such.
I remember back in the 70's Nixon froze wages. I couldn't get a raise so I told my employer that I had gotten another job with a higher salary. They said, well....what's your title, I said Technician....they said, okay, now you are a senior technician with this salary.(salary was what I wanted all along)
Everybody was getting promoted....a loophole in the freeze dictate.

Back in 2016, some African websites were saying that there was a shortage of men in Iceland and that the government of Iceland would pay $5,000 a month to immigrants who marry Icelandic women. Women there were deluged with messages from Africa.
Here's the root issue. Companies are being forced to "evaluate" every job. The issue is the criteria for this evaluation. If government sets the rules, jobs will be rated for things that bureaucrats value highly, such as paper credentials required, number of people supervised, and nominal (not actual) duties. And things will be discounted or ignored entirely if they are outside the bureaucratic mindset, or not easily reducible to a bureaucratic audit -- things like outdoor work, hazardous work, irregular hours, physically strenuous tasks, willingness to travel, weekend work, stress, etc. Anything that tends to add a premium to traditional "men's work" will be strictly verboten. Since the goal is to establish gender equivalency in pay, the scores will be rigged.
Conquest by a foreign country that believes in private property is the only hope for those degenerates.
Well... It seemed like a good idea at the time.
I didnt say dont pay the women as men. Yet its OK if the men dont make as much as the women. So a woman could be paid more than a man and that doesnt violate the law.

Easy fix. Hire women only or men only. No pay differential
