Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson has filed a lawsuit against Motel 6, saying the budget motel chain is voluntarily handing personal information of thousands of guests to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Uh-Oh...now Motel 6 won’t be able to afford to “leave the light on for you...”.
By the way, Motel 6 is already apologizing for cooperating with ICE.
Bake those gay wedding cakes and hide illegals.
Well, it means they would have given my information to the government as well, which I certainly don’t like.
However, as long as they were giving everyone’s info to the feds, then they were treating everyone the same.
The Attorney General has no standing in the issue.
The law suit is governmental intimidation..... Death is the only solution for such an abuse of power.
From what I understand, Motel 6 sends over a copy of every drivers license/ID, of every guest checking in, to the local police stations.
Rock&HardPlace ....hope Motel 6 counter sues....and this AG winds up with *hit on his face
Excerpt:
“Motel 6’s spokesmouths aren’t exactly coming across as champions of the people either.
As of now, guests who check-in at Warwicks Motel 6 will not be told their names are on a list that goes to the police station every night.”

Instead, give Motel 6 a good citizenship award.
That is utterly ridiculous, and they should be sued over it, imo.
Sounds like a perfect implementation of the “See something say something” policy.
I would use it in my advertising. “Here at Motel 6 we hope you have a pleasant stay. To help with that - we fax all registrations to police within five minutes.”
Although that sort of thing should be stated up front. And then you can decide if you want to stay there or go to the Holiday Inn instead.
I agree. Sue them.
So, the state of Washington thinks “right to privacy” means that lawbreakers have a right to hide from police. Deranged.
It’s why outlaws don’t like laws.
What!? You need identification to check into a hotel in Washington?! I’m sure it’s racist since you don’t need it to vote. They need to outlaw identification altogether. /s
