Two relative political newcomers were sworn into the nation’s most elite deliberative body Wednesday, with both Democrats vowing to work toward bipartisanship in a deeply divided U.S. Senate.

Tina Smith, who resigned at midnight as Minnesota’s lieutenant governor, becomes the state’s junior senator. She takes office a day after Democratic Sen. Al Franken resigned amid sexual misconduct claims. She becomes the 22nd woman in this Senate, a record number

It was a perfect storm of unfortunate events. And it all started with an old fool of a governor who “fell in love” with greedy woman, and fell out of love with his wife.

I agree he was sandbagged. But in three years he’s pushing 74.

The Senate has done nothing about abortion ever. Its judges, states and Presidents who control the abortion rules and laws.

No he won’t. He might be defeated but not by Moore. He’s done.

Not at all, He will not be defeated by slander and lies. I assure you of that. Take that to the bank.

Moore is going to join Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin in the “Where Are They Now? file - because he, like them, proved to be inarticulate in self-defense.

Moore has already been defeated by slander and lies. Jones is the senator.

Yep. Add to that an Alabama AG who took a bribe to go easy of he governor. But Alabama takes a back to no other state when it comes to corruption. Think Lowell Barron.

The guy will be 74 years old. Enough of the geriatric Senate. It’s getting ridiculous. The guy needs to retire and get out of politics. I wish they would put an age limit on Senators at no older then 60. House members 55. Judges appointed 45. Presidents are fine at being old since it is only a 4 year term typically.

Trump will be 74 at his reelection by a landslide. Is that ok?

And Mike Hubbard. And Don Seigleman.

We could be here all night!

...”inarticulate in self-defense.”

That certainly didn’t help matters.

**************

One difference in that the President is limited to two four year terms
Not so for the Senate and the senators need recurring elections to
become effect with seniority.

I can’t predict the future. Can you? Look at McCain and Cochran....both are sick and probably will die or resign. It happens when you have old people in these positions. I said the President can be older but not all the old crows in the Congress.

I’m quite aware of that, but having two more pro-abortion senators does nothing help the cause of life, does it?

“I agree he was sandbagged. But in three years he’s pushing 74.”

If Sessions doesn’t get his s$it together soon, Judge Moore could very well be the next DOJ dude. Although I must admit, seeing him as a Special Counsel will provide hours of entertainment.

I just hope Moore pursues legal action against his accusers and puts to shame those in the GOP who supported their claims.

Moore claimed he was going to take them to court during the election and he didn't. I don't think he wants to be answering questions under oath on this one.

That is an unfair characterization of all three people. When the F***ing Media control all the microphones and cameras, you will be made to look like a fool if they want you to look like a fool.

Al Gore said far stupider things than did Quayle, yet the media did not endlessly mock and repeat them.

It is those people who control the media-weapon that create the illusions the public sees, and only people of exceptionally rare talent can deal with these media manipulators effectively.
