Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort is directly challenging Special Counsel Robert Mueller, charging in a law suit filed on Wednesday that the prosecutor lacked the legal authority to investigate and indict him on pre-2016 money laundering charges.
Calling the indictment fanciful, attorney Kevin Downings suit in U.S. District Court says Mr. Mueller was appointed in May with a mandate to investigate possible Russia-Trump campaign collusion in the hacking of Democrat Party computers.

How can he lose? He’s right.
In a just world, Manafort would win.
They wanted to get him to roll on something... but there is nothing there.
Maybe he doesn't have standing? Said sarcastically, because none of us had standing to protest the obvious harm done by Obama's natural citizen standing, even though he was doing his best to screw the country.
Excellent move. I have no idea if it sticks but I like the move.
Yessssssss The SOB Mueller and his Gestapo shysters have zero authority. They’re conflicted beyond comprehension and not only need to be fired, but disbarred
See what I suggested in Post #89 on this thread:
Devin Nunes, targeting Mueller and the FBI, alarms Democrats and some Republicans with his tactics
This lawsuit by Manafort would fit perfectly in the "shadow DOJ" I proposed as a better idea than a special counsel to investigate the DOJ and FBI.
agreed. PUNCH BACK!
I agree...Maybe it’ll give Mueller and the Rats on his team pause and something to think about.
Actually -- that may have been the point all along.
alright by the way what crime was mueller supposed to be investigating...spell it out
Combine this with the article out today about the composition of the Grand Jury, being filled with BLM and Occupy Wall St types, and he just might pull it off. When that happens, the cabal could be exposed. Interesting to see if they’ll let that happen.
And he’s going to win...
Will discovery be allowed to Manafort? Will he be able to dispose some of Mueller’s kangaroos?
I’m now wondering if the whole purpose of this move is to set up a legal mechanism that’s going to be used to force the illicit FISA surveillance of the Trump campaign out into the open.
The Mueller probe is illegal BECAUSE it is unconstitutional. I see nowhere in the Constitution the power to create a “special investigator”, especially
with no probable cause to investigate.
Sundance today suggested "theres a lot of different down-stream legal issues" [one of which is] "The unlawful use of a Special Counsel (Mueller) investigation to hide the conspiracy; (James Baker, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Andrew Weissman, Jeannie Rhee, Aaron Zebley)"
I hope he ties Mueller in judicial knots.
The problem is - Mueller and Fed.gov have unlimited money, time and staff. They can, and will, bankrupt literally anyone. Its a peculiar form of extra-legal punishment and tyranny we have here in the USA.
