Wouldn’t be surprised if Bannon was the one leaking to the press all this time..and we thought it was McCain, etc..might have been Bannon..a real shame if true because I always thought Bannon was a good guy who cared about Trump’s agenda
Trump is right as usual.
I looked at the article, but didn’t see how Trump said this. Via tweet?
First off, CNBC, so who knows what the real story is, or even if there is a story.
I haven’t followed the Bannon story. Can anybody synopsize it down to a few sentences? Former Trump adviser? Fired for??? What’s Bannon’s ax to grind? Why would Trump even mention the man?
In a statement Wednesday, the president said Bannon the nationalist firebrand “had very little to do” with his electoral victory in 2016. Trump added that “Steve doesn’t represent my base he’s only in it for himself.”
“Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was,” Trump said.
“It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books,” he added.
"I told you so.."
Bannon is leading the insurgency against RINO senators. And those are the ones who have given the president the most trouble. Now is not the time to be attacking him.

I smell BS on both sides of this “fight”. Other people are putting words in Bannon’s mouth, and now CNBC puts these words in Trumps, without actual attribution (according to the excerpt).
I suspect media lies, once again.
Watching a little, baldheaded, Marxist ‘RAT snowflake on FNC right now. Bannon is now the darling of the snowflakes. They loved Bannon calling Trump “treasonous”. Bannon is their boy now.
From your link....
President Donald Trump distanced himself from his former chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday, contending that “he not only lost his job” but also “lost his mind” when he left the White House.
On Wednesday, excerpts from an upcoming Michael Wolff book showed that Bannon called a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.” Bannon, who did not join the Trump campaign until August 2016, also said there was “zero” chance that then-candidate Trump did not meet with the attendees.

A direct link to Trump’s statement would be nice.
Sounds like some kind of strategy to “show everybody” that Trump and Bannon are not working together. Bannon’s statement was hyped beyond just saying it was a dumb meeting.
This dumpster fire is not an example of winning in any way.
Trump is the greatest strategist and genius the Republic has ever known.
He won the most stunning electoral victory in history and is perhaps the most accomplished businessman of the last century.
Bannon is an ant compared to the giant Trump. The President is right to knock this little man down a few legs
On FR, Townhall posts are epidemic while this bombshell has been ignored ALL morning, replaced with dull headlines and old news.
I miss FR.
F U Bannon and no more Breitbart.
I will always love Andrew though.
After seeing the author and publisher for this book. I’m thinking someone’s trying to gin up a game of let’s-you-and-him-fight.
Not comparing on the same moral plane, but Bannon was to Trump what Che Guevara was to Fidel. One was a real revolutionary who believed in the real transformational purpose of their revolution only to be disillusioned and sent away because the road to the ‘end game’ became too disconnected for either to accept in harmony.
