California's 2018 Ammo Restrictions Act as Backdoor Gun Ban
newsmax ^ | Jan 02, 2018 | John Cylc

Posted on 01/03/2018 1:12:43 AM PST by Oshkalaboomboom

This morning on Facebook, I saw a post from a Walmart store stating that due to administrative delays by the state of California, they are temporarily unable to sell ammunition.

On January 1, a new California law took effect requiring all ammunition to only be sold in person, and only through a licensed vendor. The law required the Department of Justice to implement new regulations before July 2017. However, those regulations were delayed and will likely not take effect until mid-January at the earliest. That means there is now a gap in which law-abiding citizens cannot buy ammunition from many California vendors. Their Second Amendment rights have been restricted by the state. The “right to keep and bear arms” means nothing without ammo. That is a “backdoor” gun ban. That is called “tyranny,” even if it is only temporary and due to bureaucratic incompetency.

This now appears to be the method that liberals will use to attack our inherent natural rights that they oppose. California has written and passed law after law restricting gun rights for its law-abiding citizens. The state government, politicians, and liberal voters have somehow failed to comprehend that these laws will have no effect on criminals who ignore them anyway.

Murderers, robbers, terrorists, and other miscreants will still use their illegal and illicit methods of getting guns and ammo. In the meantime, the “good guys with guns” will be fighting bureaucratic battles and anti-gun administrators.

In one county with a population of over 10 million, only 197 citizens have been issued concealed carry.

"“It’s CA. At this point, anyone still living there is asking for it. “ Are you some sort of moron? It is so boring to read $hit like this. Go play on the freeway somewhere! If you had a brain, you’d be dangerous. Thankfully, you don’t!"

NO! You stupid f$ckwad. If you want to stay in that commie hellhole, It's your call. Eventually the United States will have to invade, and reestablish Constitutional Law over your alien, Third World sh!theap. That will cost un-nessesary lives.

For real.

Next year in Kali. background checks for over the counter ammo purchases, which requires a periodic fee. Hopefully some deep pockets start filling the law suits.

I don’t shoot much but do buy .22/.223 when I find a decent price. Shipping tends to kill any on-line deal so no big loss with this new law. I only speak for myself.

Lived in Marin county in the mid 70s, beautiful place back then. Lots of hunting in the mounts. Uncle told me that the good days were coming to an end. I packed it up and have only been back to fulfill some contracting work. California has changed dramatically. Maniacally so.

... there are still government officials who want to take our rights...

And Kalifornia Courts with complicity of the in ninth Circuit will uphold that.

27% of California residents are foreign born.

SCOTUS recently struck down (9-0) a Massachusetts law which flagrantly violated 2nd Amendment rights and several recent SCOTUS decisions regarding it.

That,IMO,bodes well for those challenging states that show contempt for the Amendment.

The case I'm referring to is "Caetano v Massachusetts"

Probably true. But consider 1) that the 9th Circus is overruled by SCOTUS about two-thirds of the time and 2) consider "Caetano v Massachusetts",a 9-0 SCOTUS slap down of the Massachusetts Supreme Court.

It’s a good bet that that SAF, Calguns or some other group filed the lawsuit(s) on or near January 1st.

Federal law allows me, as a non-CA resident, to traverse the State in possession of my firearm and ammo. Correct? So what if I were to “accidentally” leave some behind, and pick up some “found” cash?

Let’s call it what it is: California is in open rebellion against the United States. Time to decertify it’s statehood, install a military governor and restore their government to serve the people.

“to make it painful for California LEO.”.........

The only people in Kalifornica that might be able to keep things “cooled” down before the internal civil war begins there. There are/were a lot of “good” law abiding people living there at one time, many who have since migrated to other states, hopefully they left all the liberal ideas behind when the parted.

“Counting the days until the people of Cali have had enough and revolt just like in Iran right now.”......

It’s been easier for those types to move to other states than to revolt, but I do agree, a revolt is in order.

They’d charge you with selling illegally to a Californian

They can't "charge you" for a "crime" committed outside their jurisdiction. They can only try to nab your customers when they try to get the ammo across the state line.

Wow! And all that coming from someone who lives in The People's Republic of Washington State! Talk about a d!ckhead living in a glass house throwing rocks! When that “federal invasion” happens, they'll have to “take Washington too! Seattle is way way bigger Shit hole than even San Francisco. The only thing saving you from a complete insurrection by tree huggers, and other forms of human waste plying your streets, is the fact that most of your population, apart from being Marxist, is that they are all somnambulists, hence the need for it being the “Coffee Capitol” of the country. Your profile says you're a "shooter." I guess you use your mouth to accomplish that feat. I am an engineer too, but I design stuff, I don't drive a train. Did you run that Amtrak off the rails a week or so ago?

I left with my knife purchase but, no ammo...

I would have left without the knife purchase or anything else.

And I would have been vocal as to why.

And no excuses about how this is not the fault of the merchants.

The merchants have a voice, just as the customers do.

When the merchants start losing enough money, they will raise their voice.

My last step would be to start stepping out of that shithole of a so-called State and never looking back.

Nothing personal toward you...I understand how one can become invested and entrenched in property, job and family and be reluctant to move away from it...but in this case...it is a dire necessity...and much easier for me to say than to do, I realize that.

But I pulled up stakes from the State of Georgia over several issues (dates back to when Jimmah Cottah was the Govnah) and never looked back and never will.

I wish you and all Californians the best of luck...but that place is on a one-way slide into the depths of hell.

Get out while you can.

It breaks my heart to see what’s happening to California. It truly was the promised land. You have my sympathies trying to defend your noble state. If you could only cut those relatively small cancerous city states away.

IIRC, several years ago, NYC was going after gun shops in Southern states for selling to NYC residents.

Is my memory faulty? Anyone remember the details?
