White House staffers have voiced their concerns that it will prevent them from communicating with their families.

Many o those who worked for corporations or industrial factories before the days of cell phones were not allowed to make personal calls during work hours. Many people went down to the corner drug store to make calls from phone booths. That's just the way it was. If there was a genuine family emergency, the wife or husband had to call the person's boss.

My husband and I both have been in jobs where we were not able to call each other unless its an emergency. Your right.

I remember the days when calls went through a designated person, if it was a family emergency they would come tell us to call.
