Let us be clear on what the “insurance policy” was. The insurance policy was, in totality, the entire fraudulent Russian Conspiracy Narrative; and all of the accompanying –and subsequent– FBI and DOJ collaborative actions that were taken, under the auspices of an FBI counterintelligence operation, in order to generate an entirely false premise. The goal of using the “insurance policy” was to destroy, and possibly impeach, President Trump.
Getting Hillary’s campaign involved also could have been a form of insurance. If she had been elected, she would have been too compromised to ever allow information about illegal surveillance to become public. (In fact, she most likely would have been compromised for lots of different reasons.)
This entire story is starting to have the earmarks a very sophisticated intelligence operation, with information being laundered through multiple sources. Who in the US government is most skilled at this kind of work? It is there that I would start looking for the originators of the scheme.
These were acts of sedition and should be punishable by hanging!
The FBI has been an Agency out of control for years. Among the handful of analysts on the trail of Islamists active in the USA prior to 9/11 the Iraqi immigrant, Rita Katz, was one of the best. (See her seminal “Terrorist Hunter”, HarperCollins, 2003) Her depiction of a feckless FBI found on pages 268-330 is memorable. The Epilogue is priceless.
You know how you hated that know-it-all kid? or professor? or boss? That’s the FBI in a nutshell. Its the ‘my way or the hiway’ thinking that has dominated the Agency from the early days of J. Edgard Hoover. As such, it’s an outfit you don’t want to cross.

Bill Priestap's wife is the CEO of Nordello & Company, a sort of multi national private intelligence gathering company. I think we may be hearing about that couple in the future.

I am guessing this had BO’s stamp of approval from the get go. He had control of the government for 8 years. He and his handlers didn’t want to see the gains made during his Manchurian presidency be dismantled. I suspect this is all about the ME. Look at the recent changes in Saudi Arabia and the new regime being friendly with Israel. Hillary wrestled control of the DNC so BO and company didn’t have any other choice than to back her. My $.02
I read the entire Conservative Tree House piece, and find it deeply disturbing.
Who runs that site? Are they credible?
